Some presets reset the browser

Hi everyone, a small issue i have been experiencing with Analogue Lab V for almost a year now. When browsing presets some of them will not load and reset my browser to the top of the list. It really disrupts the auditioning process as i have to scroll from the beginning to where i was previously trying to remember the name of the preset that wigged it out. I notice i have a few double presets with slightly different names and it usually happens whenever i select the first of the pair. Is there something i can do to repair the database or stop these files from showing up? I do not have legacy presets selected.

Thanks!

Hi @tekkaz72
You can try deleting the db.db3 file and then run ALV again to let it rebuild the database.
I’d try that first.
If that doesn’t cure your issue, take a look at my first post in this thread, but obviously substitute ALV for VOICES.

HTH!

Hey thanks a lot for your reply. I am having trouble locating the db.db3 file. It does not come up under a file search and when i look manually it seems to be a bit of a nested mess of files. I have not done anything unusual since i installed it but maybe i should just delete and reinstall? I have also noticed that for some reason (i own pretty much the entire suite of Arturia plugs) it installs Analog Lab 3,4 and 5 when all i really want is 5 but due to the way i purchased everything in bits and pieces and upgrades along with software bundled with hardware it’s just a big mess

HI again @tekkaz72

It might not be a bad idea to do as you suggest and start afresh with your Arturia software. I like to keep things as tidy as possible myself as generally things will run smoother and it’s easier to track down issues if/when they occur.

What OS are you using?

I’m using Windows 11. Going to uninstall now and try again from scratch. I just hope the Arturia uninstaller does a thorough job of it. I’ll check back if the issue persists.

Complete uninstall/reinstall did not work :frowning:
I tried to locate the db.db3 file but after i open up Programdata/Arturia a complete list of Arturia plugins opens up. In this list is a folder called presets, but when i open it another directory opens with ALL of the plugins again but this time without a preset folder.
I’ll give Arturia support a go and see if they can help but thanks a lot for your reply.

HI again @tekkaz72
Hmm, that’s very odd as that file Should be there, this could be the cause of your issue possibly.
Yes it sounds like it might be a good idea to contact support.
Please let us know how you get on though as it could help others if this crops up again.

Hi @tekkaz72 ,

Do you have the folder OB-Xa V beside OP-Xa V in your preset folder? If so, then delete the OB-Xa folder.

Do the problematic presets come from the SQ-80 V soundpack Dust Materials and/ or Raw Machinery? If so, then you can inform Arturia support about that.

Look like you have a standard install path. The preset folder is then located at: Programdata/ Arturia/ Presets.
The db.db3 file is located beneath all the individual instrument preset folders on this path. It’s being created and build , when you for example open Analog Lab at have it open for a while.

Hope this helps further.

It worked TY! I found db.db3, deleted it and let AL Pro rebuild the database. I don’t know how i managed it but i had something like 21000 presets so there may have been an issue somewhere that was causing it to double up. IDK but i am soooo happy. I invested everything into Arturia (V COLX,MINIFUSE 4,EFX COL 5,KEYLAB 49 PRO) and not a day goes by that i forget how incredibly lucky i am to have all of this creative potential at my disposal. Thankyou everyone that responded, you guys are ace!

HI again @tekkaz72

That’s great news, great to see you’re back to how things should be now.

Happy endings are great aren’t they :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@LBH made a VERY good point there too which i’d actually forgotten about.

I’ll mark this up as solved now.

Hey thanks, sorry i missed your reply. But yes, i believe you are correct now that i think about it. I took some screenshots of the affected files and on further examination they are from the banjs you mentioned. I have contacted Arturia and will let them know when they respond.
