V Collection 11

Kudos to Arturia for building maximum suspense on this one.

Well, the new soundsets list Jup-8000 V and something called Pure LoFi.
Plus, the V Collection 11 Pro upgrade is offered (link not active yet) to customers. Suspense continues
The Augumented series have version 2.
And a Youtube review of Pure Lofi is already out: https://youtu.be/clyBiZ8ZAAQ?feature=shared

Product and Upgrade pages are available now.

Is this good to go for macOS Sequoia?

Using the ASC I have a ā€œniceā€ message …

What a mess …

I have same installation problem, with JUP 8000, Pure LoFi and Augmented Yangtze

Same Problems

I don’t know if it helps someone, or something start work properli but what I do is turn off VST2 support and some others things I don’t use, here is a screenshot, after that it can do normal installation.

Update:
another way I found is, click on instrument and click on arrow next to Uninstall. In the menu click on Reinstall and it will then install correctly. I got all errors on all update instruments, now I have to manually do it for evry intrument.
Maybe it help someone, maybe you will need do both options.

Doesn’t seem to make a difference. I’m updating my V Collection X (not upgrading to v11), and I get the same failure message that others have documented here. The directories in ā€œMy Preferencesā€ are ignored.

There’s a problem with the installer.

Yes. Although Arturia have not made a definitive statement re compatibility, so much time seems to have elapsed to make it almost certainly ok.

Seems really odd that they haven’t bothered to say anything officially. To me that’s extremely unprofessional - and yet would only take them 5 minutes to do. Is it a case of not doing the testing (which unlikely as they must have gone through the code of every app to make all these updates) and therefore not wanting to say anything officially positive that may leave them liable if anyone did encounter a critical problem and lost all their work as a result?

Seems more likely they are simply assessing the issue.

There is zero chance of ā€˜liability’ since you are responsible for backing up your own work and they have no control over that at all.

Assessing? For approaching 8 months? We’re only about 4 months away from the next OS! Not even for ONE single plug-in signed off. At the same time as they have worked on updates and bug fixes for every plug-in? And when pretty much every other company has evaluated and updated or approved their plug-in(s). That seems very implausible. Of course someone from Arturia could simply come on here and end any speculation. Or is that too much to ask for?

Just a reminder to anyone who already owns a previous V Collection bundle, you don’t need to buy V Collection 11 to get the latest version of any instruments that you already own.

If you open up Arturia Software Center today, you’ll see that almost all of your existing plug-ins have updates available.

The only V Collection X instrument that isn’t updated for existing owners is SEM V2 (which is replaced with a rewritten SEM V3 in VC11). This is standard practice for Arturia: anything that isn’t replaced gets an update.

Surprisingly, even my Augmented Series instruments do get an update to version 2.0! I thought these would fall into the category of rewritten instruments. Given that they are all pretty new, it’s nice to see that the update is free for existing owners.

It’s also typical that they include support for the latest macOS version in these bulk updates when a new V Collection is released. However, this time there’s nothing in the release notes about this. This is pretty disappointing for me, and concerning for the future, but I’ll write more about that in another thread…

Whenever a new V Collection is released, it’s common to see complaints about the upgrade price for owners of previous V Collections, often alongside complaints that the new instruments aren’t interesting. This is just your reminder that the V Collection is not a ā€œthingā€, it’s a collection of things. If you don’t want any of the new plug-ins, there’s absolutely no reason to upgrade. If you only want one of the new plug-ins, it’s cheaper to buy it by itself (the prices I see are $149 per plug-in vs. $199 for VC11 Pro upgrade). However, if you want two or more, it’s cheaper to upgrade the entire bundle. If you’re patient, you can wait for a sale. If you’re unsure, the new instruments have free trials available.

I’m still unsure myself. I’ve barely scratched the surface of the last update, much less the entire V Collection 9 that I bought in 2022. That said, the new SEM does look great, I’d definitely enjoy the JP-8000, and I’ve also been holding out for MiniBrute V. We’ll see…

Arturia is really bad about supporting macOS updates, and unfortunately, it feels like they’re getting worse instead of better. I’ll add some more thoughts into the dedicated Sequoia thread:

Thanks for mentioning this. I wasn’t sure how their update scheme works.

Also, if you have bought one or more particularly compelling instruments in the new batch prior to the new V Collection release, it typically results in a lower upgrade price as well. I had bought Augmented Yangtze earlier, and my upgrade price was $149. This was also my experience upgrading from 9 to X (10).

Your point is very well laid out. I purchased the V-x collection not even 6 months ago. I will admit that I didn’t need most of the instruments that were in the bundle. I had tried many via using a demo multiple times to figure out what instruments I liked and realistically would use. It came out for me that I liked 5 of the instruments, and was rather happy when the Synth X came out along with an offer with owning a miniLAB3 that the discount was enough that I could afford it.

I have since realized that quite a few of the other instruments were very handy to have and although I would not have bought them as I knew they were not mainstay to the music I want to create, as I now have them I use them.

Now I vowed to myself that I do not need any more instruments. Then bought the Pigments and now that I see the V - 11, I look and say that most of what is added falls into that category of I likely won’t ever use. BUT, that Pure LoFi stands out. I can’t say I know what offers other are getting, but for me, the cost of that single instrument is the same as the upgrade cost offered for the full collection. So it seems that it’s another one of those ā€˜you might as well buy the collection and get everything’ sort of things as it costs the same as the single instrument.

If you don’t see an advantage to upgrade then why spend the money. I don’t know if it will be offered at a cheaper cost come Black Friday or other sale events. Not like software companies for music don’t have it seems a constant sale of some sort or another going. For me, I don’t need it. I have more instruments that I am sure that could be used far beyond the capability of what I am getting out of them. But I am buying it as I know it will give me enjoyment and who knows. Perhaps even inspire me to write that next song that will go viral and make me into some superstar and pay for all the equipment and software I’ve bought so far… One can always dream can’t we?

I had a similar message, like the one above, for updating my ARP2600 as well as for Solina (I think). I was installing upgrades for V Collection 9.
Also, when I opened a project in Studio One 7, 2 tracks with the Modular V3 synth on it, weren’t recognized, while the synth is installed and can be picked from the browser to be inserted on a track. Thanks so much Arturia!

Think I’ll keep my money in my wallet until they re-write more of the older VSTs that are behind their best in terms of authenticity, such as the 2600 and Modular. Arturia clearly have a roadmap to do this, having upgraded the SEM this time and the Mini and CS80 in past releases. Maybe it will happen in VC12.
