WHEN Arturia???
Welcome to the forums.
I realise there has been no recent update on Sequoia compatibility. However, in its absence it seems that there are no issues arising from V Collection running on it. Indeed, I ran it on a mac mini M2 and now an M4 with zero issues. Of course, there could be exceptions but personally, I think it’s pretty safe to upgrade. Any issues would most likely be resolved by uninstalling/reinstalling Arturia products.
My advice. Create a backup of your system that you can restore in the event of major issues. Open all the plugins after upgrading and run with it for a few days. Any issues are likely to become apparent pretty much immediately.
Hi @naø and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!
That’s some good advice there from @Funtmaster , particularly regarding backing up your system.
Arturia very rarely, if ever, make pre announcements regarding updates, so the quickest way to find out about them is to watch their social channels or to subscribe to The Arturia Newsletter to be the first to know about them.
Thank you for your reply! Your message has reassured me to some extent. May I ask which DAW you were using?
Once a stable compatibility between software is achieved, it can feel like the world is quite delicate…
I would find comfort in a “good to go” confirmation from Arturia, especially since it’s been six months since the last macOS update.
Subscribed! Thank you for tip!
I am using Logic Pro on a Mac Mini M4.
Been running Sequoia since 15.1 and V Collection works perfectly, so whilst I appreciate a comforting message from Arturia would be reassuring, I am unaware of anyone having compatibility issues with Sequoia
FWIW, I’m running a Mac Studio M1 MAX, 64GB, Logic Pro, Cubase 14, Reason 13, Live 12.
Thank you for your reassuring message! Experience is good as gold, producers “good to go” is the gold standard.
Disappointing to see no news today on Sequoia support in V Collection 11, the release notes for the latest instrument updates, or the knowledge base article:
I’ll probably go ahead and update when I have a free day. I use my computer for a lot more than just Arturia plug-ins and would like access to some of the new features. Some of my other audio software vendors (notably Rogue Amoeba) actively encourage updating to Sequoia for improvements to the OS’s audio subsystem. Dismissing the update nags from Apple is also getting annoying, although that’s obviously no fault of Arturia.
But, really, annual macOS updates are pretty well established by now, and most other software vendors have no problems supporting new versions within a few months from their consistent September to November release dates, or even at launch with developer previews available for months before.
I’ll be generous and assume that Arturia actually did test the updates with Sequoia, and just hasn’t communicated it clearly. After all, they still haven’t updated their Sonoma compatibility page to clearly state that their effects plug-ins are compatible with Sonoma. I emailed their support team right after FX Collection 5 was released, and they confirmed that it is Sonoma compatible. I pointed out the error on the page to them, but nothing ever changed.
Even if this is the case, I’m concerned about what happens next. Looking back at the last few V Collection announcements, it looks like a new version comes about every 16-19 months. Let’s call it a year and a half.
We’re expecting macOS 16 to be announced in June and released in Q3-Q4 this year. If Arturia sticks to their recent pattern, we won’t get V Collection 12 until around mid-to-late 2026 at the soonest. That means after macOS 17 is announced, and maybe after it’s released! Maybe we won’t see support for macOS 16 at all, or maybe only after 17 is already available. This isn’t really acceptable for a software vendor in 2025, in my opinion. Even if people can wait to upgrade, sometimes you need to buy a new computer for one reason or another, and you can’t choose to have a two year old operating system on it.
V collection 11 is out. Still no Secuoia compability…Not good enough… its a sceptic customer who travels on…
The first beta of macOS 16 will be released in less than 6 weeks (June 9).
It’s far too late to still be waiting on macOS 15 support.
V Collection X worked on Sequoia without problems.
V Collection 11 does also work as far as I used it.
Why shouldn’t it?
Probably just not updated the compatibility page.
