Rotary CLS-222 vs. Leslie on B3-V2

Does anyone know how the Rotary CLS effect in the Arturia Effects suite compares to the Leslie sim used in the V Collection B3?

I don’t have Arturia Effects but I have a $49 Black Friday offer and having a good rotary sim to use in MainStage, plus a few of the other FX that I don’t really need, would make it worthwhile for me.

Or is there a way I’m missing to run other instruments through the B3 V2 Leslie?

No you are not missing anything.

Hi @Matt62704 ,

You can download Arturias applications and run them in demo mode to test.

HI @Matt62704

I’ve been using The Rotary CLS-222 since it came out and it is AWESOME!
Sometimes there’s ‘something’ i’m not vibing with using the onboard Leslie sim with the B3 V, other VIs too for that matter; so the first plug i’ll grab is the 222. It used to be Soundtoys Tremolator, but imho the 222 plug blows it out of the water in this application.
There are no rules as to what you can and can’t run through it, i LOVE it on electric guitars and electric pianos as well as organs.
You can just use it for the preamp section too for a different flavour of saturation or full on distortion if you wish.
It has a VERY familiar sound to it, which i’m sure you’ll recognise if you try the demo and run through a few of the presets.
You can go from extremely subtle to full on Keeerrrraaaaazeee and anywhere in between with it.

If you haven’t already, give the demo a whirl as @LBH suggests.

HTH!
