Mixture of “Soul/R&B” and “Soul /R&B” preset tags

When searching for Presets in Styles, I’m having trouble with “Soul/R&B” and “Soul /R&B” because they exist separately.

The former is probably correct, and in my environment, over 1000 presets are included here. However, there are more than 100 presets that are categorized in the latter category, which is inconvenient when searching for R&B sounds.

Can Arturia please unify them into the former category, i.e., “Soul&R&B” without half-width spaces?

I am attaching an image for illustration. You can see that the two styles with almost identical names have been mixed together.

Hi @sonicp and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!

I’ve just double checked with my own copy of ALV, which has very few ‘expansion’ packs included and i don’t generally save presets myself for various reasons.

My own install is pretty much a ‘virgin’ install and there is only the one category, as you can see from the pic below…
ALV Genres

So, clearly your other entry has come from ‘somewhere else’. The most logical explanation is that it’s come from a third party sound pack?

HTH!

Ps,
Please make sure to subscribe to our Newsletter to be the first to know about the latest from Arturia.

Hi @sonicp. Welcome to the community from me too.

Is it Arturia Factory folder presets. that have the unwanted attribute?
If the presets are User presets/ none Arturia Factory folder presets, then you can edit the presets, without having to resave them using Save As.

You can even change the type for multiple presets at the same time.

For example like this in Analog Lab V:

  1. Select the unwanted Attribute name that you want to change - in this case the Style with the space i assume. This should ensure only presets with the unwanted attribute is visible in the Preset Browser.

  2. Click the first preset of the selected in the preset browser.

  3. Hold down SHIFT (I’m on Windows) - and then click the last preset in the Preset browser. This should mark/ select all the current presets in the Preset browser.

  4. In the right panel click More Info and then select the correct Attribute that you want. Then deselect the unwanted attribute. (Click the + if the attribute is’nt visible.)

Now all the selected presets should have the new attribute, and the unwanted attribute should no longer exist as no presets no longer have that attribute.

Just keep in mind, that if you import/ add the original presets again or import/ add new presets with a unwanted attribute, then it will exist again unless you do the above procedure again.

I hope this help and will work for you. It’s been a while since i’ve changed a preset attribute for all presets that have that attribute.

Hey @matjones and @LBH.

Thanks for the responses!

And oh my goodness! You are both right, I have installed a third party bank. Mystery all but solved. It seems that I have incriminated Arturia.
I am very sorry. I seem to be making a lot of assumptions.

I will try the solution that LBH suggested.
Thank you Artira and both of you.

It would also be great if they can decide on Cinematic or Soundtrack, but not both, it seems redundant.

Also note they are not the same. The first has no spaces, the second has spaces in the name. So effectively two different categories and not a duplicate.
