Missing preset in Analog Lab V

Hi there,

I’m currently working on an old project where I used to work with AL4. I’ve since upgraded to a KL61 MK3 controller and now own ALV Pro. However, I’m encountering an issue: I can’t seem to find the patch I was previously using within ALV.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • I made sure to check “Include legacy sounds.”
  • I can see the patch file in both Presets/ARP 2600 V3 and Presets/CS-80 V3.
  • I’ve removed and rebuilt the db.db3 file.

The patch I’m looking for is called “Ambient” by Jean-Michel Blanchet.

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @pampa. Welcome to the community.

That’s strange.

I have both those presets. Both are old Factory presets. The ARP is not legacy the CS is.

Did you let Analog Lab V be open some time to rebuild the database? It can take a while.
Perhaps try to delete the db.db3 file and rebuild the database again. You say you have the presets and enables Legacy presets, so both should be available.

I assume the presets are located in the correct folder where they always have been located.

Thanks for your response.
I can see both synths in ALV, what I can’t find is the patch “Ambient”, whose corresponding files, presumably, I do see in the Presets folder.
I can try rebuilding the DB again, but I’ve already done so.
Can you find the patch in ALV?
I’ve tried the search bar, diving into the lists, factory presets, etc…, but don’t see it.

Hi pampa,
A lot changed with ALV, many of the presets were condensed and optimised for ALV, meaning you’re not going to be able to access this one in particular from AL4.
You can run AL4 and ALV on the same computer if you want to access this original patch.

Yes i can access and use both presets in ALV.

I got another message saying that patch was no longer available in ALV. I’m very confused now.
Should I be able to see or not?
If yes, what should I do to be able to use the patch?

I can only say i have and can access the presets i have with that name by that designer in ALV. I can’t tell if it’s the exact same presets you had/ have.

Can you access the presets you have in AL 4?
If you have uninstalles AL4, then i suggest you try to install it again and check. If the presets are in AL4, then chech again in ALV.

EDIT: All presets you own and have located correctly on your drive should be compatible with ALV. EDIT END.
