Lab V plugin is refusing to take inputs from specific Midi CC despite the fact it can Learn them

Hi there.

I am using AKAI midimix to control various parameters in my projects in Ableton.
So far I had no issues whatsoever with assigning midi mix knobs and faders across whole suite of devices: External sequencers, Ableton itself, Pigments. Any knob, any fader can be easily assigned to any parameter.

Today I tried to assign few knobs to Arturia LabV instrument plugin. I can “learn” those knobs in LabV, it recognizes the input e.g. CC22 or CC 24. (parameter turns red as if Lab V recognized the input). But after I exit “learn” mode, knobs don’t work.

What’s baffling is that the very same knobs in the very same project can be assigned and they all work on any parameter in Pigments. or any other plugin and Ableton function. However Lab is refusing to take the input despite the fact that it recognized it in “Learn” process.

Any ideas?

I would use the “Configure” option in the Analog Lab instrument in your rack instead, to assign the parameters directly via MIDI learn. That works like a charm

Every day is as schoold day! You are my hero dear lily!
Frankly I had no idea about “configure” option until your reply!
It works like a charm!

This …makes things so much easier!
Thank you!

Aha no problem, glad it helped! I use the Configure to map all my VST’s for my live sets, I use a Keystep 37 and an Akai APC40 most of the time. Also, selecting which MIDI instrument is coming through on each track allows me to be very specific about which controller controls what!
You’re welcome.
