JUN-6V not responding to MPE pitch info - Newbie help?

Hi All,

New to MPE. In Ableton I have its internal synth “Drift” responding to Pitch controls per note. It works by default, without any setup. Fine.

Now I try Arturia JUN-6V (which is listed as MPE compatible). I use same midi data but no response from pitch per note info. ??
I have it loaded as direct plugin and not going through ALab as advised.
I have MPE enables in the plugin advance settings.
I am drawing MPE dats in DAW rather then using a controller.

Might you know what I’m missing?

Forget it. I just figured it out. I had to enable in in Abelton DAW also.

Hi @MiR ,

Does it work with none Arturia third party plugins? Are you sure the automation parameters is’nt just for Ableton Live’s own instruments?

Can Ableton Live handle third party MPE plugins?
I don’t use Ableton Live. I have no idea how it can support MPE.

I don’t use MPE.

Works with Arturia and Cherry Audio plugins - i.e. not just Arturia ones.

I must have missed this post. Sorry.

MPE is just MIDI 1.0 - as long as the MIDI is piped into the plugin unadulterated, it should work.

Naturally the plugin has to be able to use the MPE data, which might involve a switch somewhere.

Ableton has an MPE tick-box which you set ‘on’ for MPE-capable controllers, so that Ableton then doesn’t do anything untoward with the MPE data and lets it pass to the plugins.
