Instruments not inside V_Collection-X

I got an email from Arturia with a great offer to get V_Collection-X + the new Synthx_V

I can if I look inside the software instruments there are two that don’t appear on the V_Collection-X list of instruments. I don’t know if this is just an error on Arturia’s park in forgetting to update the web site, or they are not included.

I see an Augmented Yangtze. and the MiniBrute. can I verify that these are just not part of X?

Both of those instruments were released after V Collection X. They will be part of V Collection XI.

thanks for letting me know. Always best to ask to understand what it is that you are getting before.

There is one last thing that I’ve looked for but cannot find. Licensing for machines. I gather there is NOT iLok for this. But I have both a laptop and a desktop Mac mini. I bought a Minilab3 for the laptop and have on order and hopefully getting next week the KeyLab for my studio MacMini. but if/when I do other band work there might be a third computer that gets used temporarily. How does installation and licensing work?

Other software I own uses iLok that clearly spells out how many machines can be installed and is controlled by the iLok key. I also have other software that works on the trust system of you can install onto a new computer but requires a periodic network to re-verify your license. I am buying this for myself to use myself, but it’s always best to understand how the license software works so you know and not caught out. Like when I bought my MacBook that suffered a catastrophic system board failure three weeks after I bought it. I got back a wiped fixed MacBook but had to deal with iLok license recovery and replacement I know that Apple support here love to just wipe the computer for any issue, so how installed software is licensed can catch you out.

Thankyou for any help and insight that can be offered.

How does installation and licensing work?

All Arturia software licenses come with 5 activations. (i.e. up to 5 computers on the same account)
Arturia doesn’t use iLok. All Arturia license activations (and more) are done via the ASC (Arturia Software Center).
See: ASC - Arturia Software Center | Arturia - The Sound Explorers

One thing Arturia does seem to do is if you buy Synthx now, or before V Collection XI is released, they’ll factor it into the pricing. Meaning you will be able to get V XI for a reduced price.

In the end it all works out to be the same price… well so far it has.

It generally means you can buy now at reduced price and save pay less when V Collection XI comes around.

the only other instrument that I am really interested in is Pigments and I gather that will never be part of the V_collection so I just have to see if it ever comes on sale

Hi @innovationsinm
It most certainly DOES go on sale at various times of year and is an INCREDIBLE synth that just keeps getting bigger and better, ok i’m biased lol

This is one reason we ask people Subscribe to our Newsletter so they can keep informed about sales etc.

I see that some of the software instruments in V Collection X have other version numbers. For instance, ARP2600 V3, or Jup-8 V4. Are these the latest? Or do I need to buy Jup-8 V to get the latest version?

(I’m assuming that the included Jup-8 V4 is the fourth version, and the Jup-8 V on the website is the fifth version).

‘Jup-8 V’ means ‘virtual instrument’ not version 5. The latest version of the Jup-8 virtual instrument is V4 dated 22 August 2024.

HI @lowerrandom and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!

I can confirm what @Jon_Vincent says, it CAN be a little confusing for the new user with V (in this case for ‘virtual’) and X both being Roman Numerals, it does crop up from time to time so you’re in good company.

Thank you. Good to know.
