I’ve bought CS-80 V4, why aren’t I licensed to use V3?

I bought a license for CS-80 V4, but it can’t load V3 patches and most patches around the web seem to be for V3.
It would be great if I could also use V3 with the same license, given it’s just an easier version of the same synth - is there a good reason why I can’t?

Hi @Phasicmusic. Welcome to the community.

The V4 version is a full rework. The V3 and V4 version is basicly different synths. There are both sound differences and functional differences. The V4 version is imho the most accurate emulation of the CS-80 ever.
Owners of the V3 version have paid a price to update to the V4 version, because it’s basicly a different synth.
The V3 version is discontinuet and are no longer maintained by Arturia.

FYI: It is possible to use V3 version presets in Analog Lab V when set to include Legacy Sounds. However it’s only possible to make deep editing of the sounds, if you own the V3 version. You can do some editing without.

You can also ask Arturia support, if you wish.
