FX Collection 6 Pro

Hey, just wondering if anyone knows if there are any release notes for the older plugins in the collection, or if they were updated at all? I reported that there was a display issue in DIST-Tube Culture awhile ago. Kinda just wondering if anything like that was fixed.

Also, for some reason, despite PayPal being offered on the site, it no longer is an available option during check-out. Anyone know what’s up with that?

Thanks.

(ETA: Having to “tag” this post, when none of the tagging options are applicable, doesn’t make any sense)

Hi @RSMcGuitar,

The reply is in principle the same i have been given in this topic:

I see something about showing output EQ curve should have been fixed in DIST-Tube Culture, if that’s what you have reported.

Thanks for your response. I knew you could look at all the individual notes in the ASC, but I was hoping there might be a “master list” type of thing.
Ahh, it is much easier to go through on the website. I also didn’t realize clicking on the version number showed the release notes.

Hey! That actually is the exact issue I pointed out, so that’s great!

Agree re tagging limitations. It’s a bizarre system!

I’m just going to reply here as the topic is FX Collection 6

I am sort of torn between the upgrade and not.

I see that I got an offer. I don’t know how much others who have past versions or how to gauge it. I had bought FX 5, and when they were released the Mix Drums and Transients plugins. So really what does the new 6 offer that I haven’t already pre-bought. There are 5 new plugins it seems, and as I’ve already bought two of them, are the remaining 3 worth the upgrade cost??

From the practical side, the remaining 3 plugins are really not anything that I am just comping at the bit to get. Knowing me, I likely won’t even use them, like I don’t use the vast majority of plugins inside the FX-5. But then there is the other approach to this. If you don’t purchase upgrades when they come out, then will Arturia keep on developing new plugins that might include ones that I really will want? A company that isn’t profitable is a company that is in trouble. (look no further than Native Instruments). So is the small cost of buying worth the cost of hopefully a good future?

Trying to stay away from bundles nowadays. Atleast unless they contain several products i really want, and the bundle total price is lower than buying the products I really want separately. Bundles keep you locked in, and not able to purchase stuff you might really want once they are released, since you have to wait for it to be included in bundle, or pay for it twice. Really dislike the whole push-everybody-into-the-bundle-mentality several manufacturers use. The FabFilter version, you get a discount on new purchases for every plugin you own, is much preferable!

Interesting. I feel the opposite way about bundles. You end up paying less overall.

Also, as an example, this time for the collection, it considers that I have both FX Collection 5 AND that I’ve purchased MixDrum. I think that’s pretty good.

Now, if I could only get someone to respond to my inability to pay using PayPal…

That Arturia accounts for single purchases in the upgrade is good, many do not. That said, my guess is you still end up paying more in total than if you just had waited for MixDrums to be included in the bundle.
