I think I’ve read somewhere that db.db3 file - found under C:\ProgramData\Arturia\Presets - holds all the information regarding which presets you liked with hearts, colors, etc.
Today I opened Analog Lab V Pro and under My Favorites category, I first clicked on the “Liked” category and then I clicked on the red color category, which I called “Best”.
I right-clicked the heart of one of the presets, just to see, which colors it is tagged with, and suddenly it disappeared from the list. That was really frustrating, but lucky for me I had a backup of my db.db3 file from the day before.
So I restored the file, because I wanted to see, which preset I accidentally removed from the list. Then I find out that this db.db3 file does nothing.
I did a test just to be sure.
I wrote down the name of a preset, which was on the top of the list. That is, the list of all the favorite presets marked with hearts and the color red.
I removed both the heart and the color from that preset
I quit the program
I restored the older DB file just to see if that preset was still marked.
It was not. Apparently that file does not store the information about which presets are marked with hearts and colors? Or did I misunderstand something?
TLDR; How exactly are you supposed to back up your favorite presets? So that if something goes wrong, or you have to reinstall the entire Arturia package on a whole new PC, that you can restore all of your favorite presets marked with hearts and certain colors.
In short i can give this info, but can’t tell if anything has changed, so check it yourself:
All you need is located in your Arturia Ressource folder.
Liked and Tags informations are stored in different ways.
AFAIK:
User presets have Liked informations stored within the presets.
Factory presets and Arturia Soundpack presets have Liked informations stored in the FactoryEdit folder.
Tags informations for all presets are stored in the Shared/ Tags folder.
Samples are stored in the Samples folder.
Playlists can be found in the applications/ User/ Playlist folders.
I can’t remember where the MIDI Configs are located.
You can export both Playlists and MIDI Configs to a location of your choice.
Informations about all this can already be found in the forums. Another time please search the forum before asking.
