Distorsion module weird behavior

Hello,

I have this weird thing where when I set the dry/wet control of the distorsion part to fully wet, signal disappears. FX level in the master section or output level in the distorsion section do not change anything either.

Swapping the two sections doesn’t help neither.

What is happening here ?

Hi @ksk16 ,

Can you post a screenshot or a preset with the settings that do not work?
There are many combination possiblities between the modules.
You for example does’nt mention if you have both the Distortion output and FX Level above minimum at the same time. It sound like you have set the MIX in the Output module fully right.

Are your Plugin updated to the latest version?
Which Plugin format do you use?
Which OS do you use?

This is when I load a preset from the distorsion category. Here I can hear the filter but not the distorsion, no matter in which position I set the dry/wet control in the distorsion module.
Here the distorsion module is full wet and I get no sound at all. It is like the distorsion module just isn’t there and the dry/wet is between signal/silence instead of signal/distorsion if that makes sense.

I am using Cubase 13, VST3, last version reinstalled yesterday from the arturia software center. Drive led is blinking and responding, so are the modulation color rings around the knobs.

One thing occured to me : I got this plugin at launch when it was free. Could that be an explanation ? Is the distorsion not available when coming from the free version ?

As far as i can tell. then you do not have any modulations from the Advanced sections going on. If that’s correct, then you should hear sound with the settings you have set. You can test by decresing the Movement knob - set it to Zero.

As far as i know a free version of an application in generel is fully functional.

I can suggest you try to reinstall MS-20. You can try through ASC. If that does’nt work, then try to download the standalone installer.
It should work. If not, then i suggest you contact Arturias technical support.

I don’t use Cubase, so can’t tell if there is something DAW related.

A similar problem here. I have cubase 12. I have several projects that use the MS-20 that sounded great. After applying the latest update (installed as I bough another Arturia product) for the MS-20 , ive lost around 80% volume and something is a miss with the filtering. The sound I once had has completely changed.

The only thing with my setup that’s changed is applying the latest Arturia update for the MS-20.

I’ve tried re-loading the plugin. Re-installation of the MS-20, and ‘cleaning prefs’ from the ASC. Nothing is making a difference.

You can check by installing an older version of the filter again.

I also suggest you contact Arturia technical support. Can’t tell if this is a Cubase related issue.

Cleaning the prefs and restarting my computer fixed it. It didn’t at first, I think the restarting part is important.
