CUBASE 14 ANALOG LAB V PC VST2 even though up to date installation

HI All, I wonder if somebody might be able to help.

Recently, I noticed that whenever I shut a project with various instances of Analog Lab V as soon as I open it again - every ALV instance has forgotten the preset I’d chosen and reverts to Juno. So then I’d have to waste time reassigning them and adjusting the vol output. All my other synths remember. Serum, Vital etc

I decided to check for Arturia updates and while I did this I bought Pop Transcendence from AudioPluginsDeals and they included Analog Lab play - which I thought was a new collection or something whereas it’s just a selection from what I already had in the Analog Lab V that came with my Arturia 49 midi controller when I bought it.

Anyway, I have got it all working now but I notice in my Plugin manager - Analog Lab V is VST2 - not 3 - and this may well be why it is not remembering what instrument I assign it.

Looking at my files ALV is definitely in the VST3 Cubase file but why is it showing in the plugin manager as being a VST2 - and is installing ANALOG LAB PLAY the reason it’s all confused and messed up?

I would appreciate any advice. Thank you. yours Geo

Hi @GeoGraphy. Welcome to the community.

I don’t use Cubase. But afaik Cubase 14 can use VST2 but no longer support the VST2 format. Cubase 14 should by default use VST3 unless the user make other settings i think. Have you checked your settings in Cubase?

I can’t tell if there is issues with Analog Lab VST2 in Cubase 14.

You should only have one Analog Lab installed no matter what you have installed. But be sure you have the latest update. Check your Arturia Software Center.

Hi LBH,

Thanks so much for your help. Cubase 14 does have a switch to turn VST2s on which I have set correctly. But again thanks for your help and it’s good that the Arturia Software Center makes it clear if you have the lastest or not. All the best, yours Geo
