Hi Arturia`s friends, Recently I have noticed that my Analog Lab V is not working good in my Cakewalk DAW. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and problem persist! The time running of the sequence DAW keeps bumping/ out of sync/ stumbling whenever I play Analog Lab V or record it. I have bought several sound banks to use on it but I am not able to use it anymore! What can solve my problem? Any help? Thank you
Hi @cacauceluque. Welcome to the community.
It will be easier for someone to test in their DAW, if you give an example factory preset name and describe what it is you in that preset exspect will sync and how it will sync but does’nt.
Just in case: Not all presets are synced. So are you sure it’s synced presets? Is it about all presets or for example presets from certain instruments?
Is it about something else? Specific what?
Just to add to @LBH always sage advice… i haven’t used Cakewalk since last century now, but in cubase you’d need to go into the transport options to switch sync on, could be something similar in Cakewalk?
HTH!
Thank you very much for trying to help me. It’s a little difficult trying to explain what’s happening in English. English is not my native language. I’ll try anyway. When I press play on Cakewalk, the song position cursor goes through the bars without any problems BUT when it finds a part of the song that has the Analog Lab V making a musical phrase, the cursor starts to stumble and get a little frozen! It doesn’t flow normally! Analog Lab V is disturbing the flow of music! The music gets choked up when there is a part referring to Analog Lab V.
@cacauceluque,
That can be because your CPU is being overloaded. Have you checked it?
Which precise CPU do you have?
Which Soundcard do you use, and which samplerate and buffer size settings do you use? Which driver do you use? Perhaps post an image of the settings.
Can you simply play Analog Lab in stand alone mode using your controller without runing anything else? If so, can you record Analog Lab in Cakewalk and play the recording without anything else is going on in the DAW?
Well, sorry for the long delay to answer your comment! Thats because I am trying not to use Arturia Analog Lab V anymore. But since I have just added it to my track the same stuttering issue start to happen again! I have lots of VSTi and no one have this kind of issue! Everytime my CPU is overused I start to hear some craklings noises on the sound and Cakewalk shows the Overload graphic aswell. I think it
s an issue specific with how Cakewalk handles the synchro play signal that is affected somehow by Arturias Analog Lab V.
Yes, I can use Analog Lab V in standalone mode and I can record despite the stuttering synhcro issue. Everything runs normal except for the music cursor palying.
It`s indeed a very disturbing issue!
Thank you for trying to help me!
Although my computer is old I can still play lots of VSTi instances at once without any problem!

Hi @cacauceluque. Welcome back.
I have looked at your CPU specs. It’s from 2012 as far as i can see, and not the best at that time. I think you issue very well can be about your CPU is’nt up for the task you put on it.
Please keep in mind, that different instruments and how many, the sounds and the usage of voices all have an impact on CPU load.
I can suggest you in Analog Lab’s right panel try to set it to use MultiCore, just in case this can help. It also depend on the DAW.
You are always welcome to contact Arturia support through you account. But your CPU do not meet todays requirements since it’s as old as it is.
Thank you for your quick response but even with just one instance of Analog Lab V the issue is happening!
I can run several instances of U-he ( Zebra-Zebra HZ, Repro 1), Tone 2 ( Icarus - Electra), Synapse Audio Dune 3, Konatkt sample libraries and so on! Cakewalk Overload Quad Core graphic is showing a very low usage of it when I running just one instance of ALV.
Really thank you
I suggest you contact Arturia support through your account then.
You can also try to reinatsll Analog Lab first.
You say you can run Analog Lab in Standalone mode. If it’s with the same sounds, then it can be a DAW related issue.
Some of the sounds in Analog Lab do not use much CPU. Others use much. The sounds is from many different instruments.
Ok thank you.
I have just installed Reaper and loaded Analog Lab V and everything went just fine and smooth!
So the problem is related to Analog Lab V and Cakewalk!
Thanks very much for the update @cacauceluque.
That make some sense after all.
FYI: I have an old PC with a Intel I7 3770K CPU as old as yours. It’s better than your CPU as far as i can find out. And i can do many things with that CPU. But It does struggle with very CPU hungry presets when using many voices. That can for example be some presets from Augmented instruments. Or it can be some Multi presets. Presets from for example ARP 2600 V, Modular V and many other instruments only uses little CPU power.
So perhaps you sometimes will get CPU overload issues.
Sorry but if it was my CPU issue It should not have worked with Reaper! But it worked great!
I changed the DAW only! I am using the same computer!
Why do I have overload CPU issue with one track of Analog Lab V on Cakewalk and NOT with Reaper using the same computer and CPU?
Yes i understand that.
I am following discussions related to Cakewalk and Arturias Analog Lab V issues and people with modern computer are having problems too. They unistalled ALV new version and installed an older one and problem was solved!
Unfortunately I discovered that not only Analog Lab V but ALL Arturias Vsti have the problem! There is something really odd is that if you leave the Vsti GUI opened, the issue doesn
t happen! Maybe there must have something related with my Nvidia graphic card and the way Arturia`s handles their VSTis!
You can check if your Graphics driver/s is updated.
