Hi, I have Analog Lab Pro Ver 5.10.7.5324 which came with V Collection 8. When I try to open certain presets, eg
Mind Shonen - Martin Rabiller
Polar Loss - Martin Rabiller
Prince Wub - Gabriel Sauvage
Radiant Star - Laura Katic
it asks me to upgrade to a later version. However this is the latest version according to my Arturia Software Center. I t also seems to be the latest version on Arturia.com How can I upgrade to a version which will open all presets?
Thanks
Analog Lab version 5.11.0 that supported Pigments 6 unfortunately had bugs, so Arturia took it down. That mean there is no Analog Lab available that support Pigments 6 presets. All the presets you mention are Pigments 6 presets.
I assume it will not take too long time before Arturia release an Analog Lab that support Pigments 6.
Hi, I’ve just noticed that on my laptop I’ve got ver 5.11.0.5539 and it opens the presets mentioned with no problem. I installed the Arturia software on the laptop using the same method ie Arturia Software Center. I suppose I’ll just wait for Arturia to fix things. Thanks
The Minifreak plugins have been broken since the Minifreak 3.0 update in December. It has now been over two months since this bug first manifested. I think it was briefly fix but the fix was rolled back because it introduced more bugs. As someone who writes software for consumer electronics, it should not take this long for a fix on something that is easily reproducible.
Any news on the Analog Lab update? I’ve now got heaps of patches from both Pigments and Minifreak V that won’t open. And given that Minifreak V still doesn’t support playlists and their midi program changes I can’t get away with just using it directly in my live setup.
Hey – semi-related: I went on a preset buying spree. Many of those are Minifreak V presets (I didn’t know at the time), and I don’t own V10 or Minifreak V standalone.
I’m seeing the same “latest version” prompt as everyone else. Makes sense for Pigments 6 stuff. Will my Minifreak V stuff work with the Analog Lab update or will I have to upgrade to V10?
The next update of Analog Lab should support the newest MiniFreak V presets too.
But keep in mind that you in Analog Lab only can do deep editing for the instruments you own the full version of.
Wonderful! And that totally makes sense (otherwise it’d be like getting MiniFreak for free). Very excited to dive into these presets and unify under Analog Lab. <3 Thank you!
Can any updated status on the Analog Lab update be shared? The last update indicated “very soon” but that term is relative. In the context so software updates, I think soon means within a few weeks, and very soon means approximately one week. The following description about the ambiguous nature of the term soon seems to agree.
“For instance, it could mean receiving a package in a few business days, starting a meeting in 15 minutes, or getting a software update within a week.”
I understand people are working on it. I just want a realistic timeframe so I am not wasting my time checking for updates only to find none.
It would be really good if there was an ETA for the fixed 5.11 update. My live set uses Analog Lab extensively (so that I can use midi program changes easily, and not have to host all the Arturia plugins individually - plus Minifreak V doesn’t support program changes at all, but I’m vocal enough about that shortcoming elsewhere).
Also FYI I don’t leave ASC on as it periodically causes weird CPU spikes in Ableton 12.1, even when not in use (specifically the ArturiaSoftwareCentreAgent process) - this is on an M1 MBP using the current MacOS (15.3.2). I’ve reported that bug a while ago but again nothing has been done so it has to be manually killed each time I use ASC (even after quitting the application itself the process remains active).
Unfortunately I am also impacted by an ASC bug. When ASC launches, if “checking connection” does not complete in the first few seconds then it just spins trying to log me in. I have to wait for the status to goto “Online”, then terminate ASC and relaunch it. The second time will always connect. So I cannot rely on ASC to let me know when updates are available.
This situation really is getting to the point where it’s ridiculous that Arturia isn’t providing its loyal users with an ETA of repairs. I fully get that these are often not easy fixes to do, and pretty much everyone would understand that I believe… but to not say anything about it other than the one item they posted a while ago seems negligent in my opinion. I love their products and really I always steer people to buy Arturia products… but its starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth that we are all kept in the dark about even a rough estimate as to when this may be fixed.
Yeah, it’s definitely made me more cautious about relying so much on Arturia for my live setup.
I would have thought that it would be fairly straightforward to have an internal policy that all software instrument updates need to be compatible with Analog Lab (and AstroLab) at release.
I can understand completely that new plugins such as Acid V might have a lag time before their patches are available in AL, but for stuff like Pigments and Minifreak V, breaking Analog Lab compatibility for months is really quite negligent, and ignores the needs of their customers.
At least if they warned us prior to updating Pigments and Minifreak V that it was going to break Analog Lab compatibility, then I could have made the decision to hold off updating. Now that I know it’s a possibility I will definitely take more care in future.
Tick tock Arturia, I’m ready to use the tools you sold me. At this point, I have buyers remorse.
Bought Keylab 61mkiii
Bought V collection X so I could edit presets.
Bought Pigments 6 so I could also edit presets using Pigments.
Made a handful of presets for a current project.
Then Arturia broke the ecosystem, and my custom presets are no longer able to be opened. So $1000 spent, hours of work done, and NOTHING to show for it.
@joseph.arturia can we get an update? It has been a month since you said it would be “very soon” and things have been broken for nearly 4 months (when minilab v was updated in mid December).
