Active Keylab 49 MK2 causes projects to not load in Bitwig 5

Hi, I just spent two whole days solving a problem that I managed to identify. I have Windows 11, Bitwig 5 and 6. I also have your MIDI Controller MK2 Keylab 49 and a bunch of purchased Arturia plugins.

When inserting a MIDI plugin into my DAW, sometimes a small window pops up, informing about the wrong MIDI ports. This is a relatively new thing.

Unfortunately, due to this new behavior (the pop-up window) you have caused it to be impossible to initialize projects in the DAW that contain your plugins and at the same time your MIDI controller is active.

The control function that you have implemented is probably getting stuck in an invisible window when initializing your plugins. This applies not only to placing plugins on a chain, but also to adding them to known plugins in my DAW.

It would be nice to solve this blocking process of initializing your plugins quickly, because it is very seriously broken and inconvenient for users of all MK2 devices.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Hi,

From the sounds of it you have identified a possible issue.

I suspect there is little we here on the Forum can do to investigate further let alone resolve the issue.

So, I suggest you log a technical support ticket with Arturia giving them your set-up details and detailed steps to reproduce the problem.

I hope they resolve it.

I did. Thank you.

Okay, I figured out what the problem was. It could have been two things.

  1. I somehow managed to create controllers in Bitwig that were supposed to be connected via the MIDI interface of my sound card

  2. I updated the firmware of the Steinberg ur22c, which led to the expansion of the existing audio input channels from two to four.

One of these two things caused that when I tried to run the Arturia Plugin, MIDI routing broke globally throughout Windows until I restarted Windows. How did I fix it? I deleted old devices, hidden devices, and removed them from the system. I also tried to remove the Steinberg MIDI port, which mysteriously had two in Bitwig and was causing mischief.
