Zen Garden - trying to tap into my inner equilibrium

The Piano V3 seems to be one of the go-to instruments that I use when writing. it has a certain zen property to it. I made an animation and thought why not put some music to it. Let’s be honest, it’s why I like to make these animations.

The premise was keys around a few simple notes played on a piano, and how could you not use Piano V3 for that.

Nice.Reminiscent of Eno and indeed even some Frippetronics. Music for Airports meets No Pussyfooting.

Good evening @innovationsinm
I really enjoyed your videos and the accompanying music.
Aside from the music itself, what type of camera do you use to avoid distortion and ensure stable footage? I have a Sony STL A58 DSLR, but I struggle to stabilize it.
Best wishes.
Musical regards.

I liked that. Nice atmosphere.

Nice deep sea atmosphere.

sorry that I missed this question.

All my chill out music has been done with computer rendering so there wasn’t any camera involved with it at all. The walk videos and the other real life stuff is shot with a DJI Action4 camera that I found on sale as they were clearing them out. The stabilization of the DJI action cameras is impressive. But I have also found that I can achieve very workable results with even my iPhone if I use a good selfy-stick camera mount like this K&N stick. just the action of holding the camera out arms length away from me as I walk and watching the camera back seems to make my arm act as a gamble to stabilize the footage.

Hello @innovationsinm and thank you for your reply. No worries, there was no rush for your response, but thank you anyway for the link.

I did consider the Apexcam M80 4K Action Camera with Stabilizer for filming.

I already have a harness that I made a few years ago for a small digital camera (the Sony isn’t compatible).

But for now, I’m very busy studying orchestral music for film, especially since I’m self-taught.

Have a good rest of the day.
Best regards from Brittany (France)

I can only tell you my experience with some of the other ultra inexpensive Action Cameras that I have tried.

I originally started off with the AkASO v50x that was about $100 cdn. The specs on Amazon looked good and I did excessive amounts of research on the internet and it looked to be a very reasonable camera that supposedly had pretty good stabilization. What I didn’t knew however was that all the reviews are a good 5-6 years old and the camera has long since had multiple revisions that don’t get talked about. Everyone was talking about the ver1 camera and a few of the 1.1. Nobody talked about the 2 and 2a variants, and that was what was getting sold at the time. This meant No h.265, and reduced sd card write speed and as a result effectively no stabilization.

I tried very hard to get the AKASO to work. When I tried recording at any resoution the camera ultimately failed to record anything of viewable quality as the write speed issues. When walking through trees or items with enough detail the h264 encoder just ran out of buffers as it couldn’t write fast enough and the key frames were so highly compressed the P & B frames just looked like blobs with no decreeable image.

I returned it and put up quite a scathing review with video examples. AKASO weren’t too pleased and tried to bribe me with a more expensive v50elite that sadly didn’t work that much better. It’s fine for still or slow moving images. I ended up using as a B-Roll where the camera is stationary and I move past it.

If you are looking to get an action camera that you want to use while walking, or for me, riding a bike, or any moving action shots. Don’t sell yourself short, you will find that disappointment far outlays the cost.
