Will the version in Arturia V Collection X work on the new M4 Mac Mini

I just got the new Mac Mini and a few of the instruments from Collection 8, including this one, does not install or work. Do all the instruments in Collection X work on the new M4 Mac Mini or should I wait for Collection 11?

It’s possibly the OS causing incompatibility. Arturia has had >this warning< on their website for months and months now advising Mac users to not update to Sequoia because Arturia apps have not been approved for use with Sequoia yet. Which is of absolutely zero help to anyone like yourself who bought a new Mac since last October, because you all get Sequoia as your OS from first-boot.

Contraversial opinion: if Arturia can’t update their products in a timely fashion considering Sequoia has been publicly available in beta and live for 8 months at this stage, then the website should actively warn potential buyers about this at the point of purchase.

Hi @Megadave1994. Welcome to the community.

I’m on Windows, so i have’nt tested.

Afaik then all Arturias current software instruments run Natively on M CPU’s. Not sure about different versions.

As @Jon_Vincent say, then Arturia have not yet officially tested and cleared the macOS Sequoia. Perhaps they have just forgot to update the article. So perhaps there can be issues. But i believe many already run the software on the OS without any issues.

I suggest you download the instruments and run them in demo mode to test yourself, if you are in doubt.

You can always ask Arturia support too, if you wish.

I have just upgraded to a Mac Mini M4 and it was preinstalled with Sequoia. I had an M2 previously and used Time Machine to restore my settings. I took a gamble and everything works fine However, I did have to use the ASC to reactivates licenses.

I am not saying that everything will be fine for others, but just illustrating that it ‘could’ be ok.

I too think Arturia should be quicker to validate software on updated OSX.

As @LBH suggests, try the demos first and remember to have a pre and post backup just in case.

Good luck.

According to the Arturia support article on Apple Silicon support, V Collection has been fully native since version 8.2

Prophet V was still current as of V Collection 8, so it should have been updated.

On the other hand, Prophet-5 V was new in V Collection 9 (confusing, I know). They split the Prophet V plugin into two new plugins in that version. I never had V Collection 8, but I believe that the new Prophet 5 V and Prophet VS V plugins in VC9 are not backwards compatible with the older Prophet V plugin. So if you have existing projects that used Prophet V, you’ll want to install the older plugin to open them. If you have V Collection 8, you own the latest version of it already. I see it in Arturia Software Center as “Prophet V3”.

You would think Arturia have tested and officially validated at least some of the plug-ins by now. If not, what on Earth are they doing - apart from sprucing up Pigments? NI are doing theirs in stages, updating their compatibility page as they go. Why can’t you do this too, Arturia?
