I am kinda hesitating to sell the minifreak and to get a microfreak, because some features (sampling, vocoder, custom wavetables) are missing compared to the micro which I’d really like.
Welcome to the forum, Earlgrey! (BTW, Earl Grey is my favourite tea! )
Knowing the history of Arturia FW updates, and having seen how the MicroFreak’s capabilities kept growing with its updates, I consider it reasonable to anticipate pretty much the same treatment for the MiniFreak.
Thanks! Hmm, then I think I will at least wait till Christmas. Having both the micro and the mini would be a bit overkill for me;).
I have no doubt a massive 3.0 update is coming The Mini is super successful and we can rely on the track record of Micro updates ! (Not sure that is proper English)
Also… 2.0 is almost 1 year old Would make sense to release it before Christmas
I was told just that from someone from Arturia: that a very big update is being worked on. So I wouldn’t worry about that is I were you.
Hopefully you’re right!
No new features for a year now is a joke compared to the Microfreak updates. It’s ****** how we pay twice as much for a Minifreak that gets the Roland treatment instead.
I think for the price it’s already a good synth how it is right now, but microfreak as a little brother that has a lot of features that the mini doesn’t have is a bummer.
A tale as old as time…
In any case if you just look at the history, you will see the same pattern I think we can expect with the Minifreak updates in terms of frequency. Exercise a little patience and keep exploring synthesis. Be kind of ridiculous for it not to gain these features and more, eventually - dont you think?
