Why is Keystep Pro not listed in MIDI Settings?

Hi,

Why is Keystep Pro not listed in the controller list in MIDI Settings in Pure LoFi?
I know it’s not a classic MIDI controller, but it would be great to control at least some parameters with the top five knobs.

Hi @Ritmatisk. Welcome back.

Only Arturias midi controllers are listed there.

You can use the Generic MIDI controller setting.

@LBH I use it like that, I’m just saying that it would be nice to be able to tweak some parameters with the top rotary encoders

Does’nt those encoders send midi CC messages?

You can for example assign those encoders to the MACRO’s under the MIDI tab in the right panel your image show using midi learn.
You can also create different midi Configs there.
Is’nt this how you use the Generic controller setting?

Yes you should use the “Generic” setting if your controller is not listed there, but you can also “LEARN” to change the knob destination mappings if you want, and save your own.

Thank you guys.
I put the Keystep Pro in Control Mode and changed the default CC messages in order to control at least some parameters in Pure LoFi (or any other VST instrument in V Collection 11). Interestingly, the KeyStep Pro manual states this:

In the MINI V user interface, open the Arturia system menu in the top left and
select ‘Audio Midi Settings’. Under ‘MIDI Devices’, select the Arturia KeyStep Pro.

I checked, and it’s not there :upside_down_face:

KeyStep Pro is a fantastic controller that I mainly use for my modular. It’s a shame in my case that Cubase Pro doesn’t “see” my old faithful Novation ReMOTE controller since version 12. I’ve done wonders with it: created my own templates for synthesizers that only accept Sysex (e.g. Oberheim Matrix 6-r), RPN, NRPN, made custom templates for various DAWs… Tempi passati :broken_heart:
