Which sustain pedal work natively with Polybrut?

Hey everyone. I purchased a Polybrut last year and have had constant sustain pedal issues that I’ve put up with but would really like to solve.

I have a Roland DP-10 sustain pedal that works perfectly with my other keyboards but, for whatever reason, doesn’t behave with my Polybrut. Here are some of the behaviors I run into…

  • holds a note after pedal is released
  • releases a note even though the pedal is still pressed
  • doesn’t activate after pedal is pressed

These behaviors occur while using a DAW (Logic Pro), using Connect, or using it completely disconnected from my computer ('23 Macbook Pro).

I saw a few other posts about sustain pedals on this forum so I was wondering if anyone knows of a sustain pedal that works with the Polybrut out of the box?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

I just use a cheap Quik-Lok PS-25 and it works fine. Is your DP-10 set to Switch mode? Polybrute does not support Continuous mode sustain pedals.

Make sure your Polybrute has got the latest firmware (3.1)
Then go to : Settings/Keyboard/Pedals/Polarity Sustain
Select : 2. Inverted (or 3. Autodetect)

I have a DP-10 and it works perfectly.

HI @wordpictures and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!

Pretty much ANY, non-latching foot switch should work here, as @Michael_G suggest, it might be an idea to update your firmware to the latest version if you haven’t.

HTH!
