I work from two computers and I have some custom .emux files with samples. I use Logic Pro and I keep my projects on Dropbox. Each time I go from one computer to the other I have to re-find my samples. Is there a way to save them into the project folder and it will just remember that? It is making me not want to use the EMU II V.
Hi @Betazero and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!
As far as i’m aware, the only way that theoretically MIGHT work is to make sure your directory structure is the same on both machines and then to copy the relevant samples to both machines.
you’d also need to copy the following, this is for Windows, i’m not sure about Mac though…
C:\ProgramData\Arturia\Presets\Emulator II V\User
C:\ProgramData\Arturia\Samples\Emulator II V\User\Imported If you have imported samples to this folder.
If you have imported from a folder outside of The Arturia folder, then you’d need to recreate that on both machines with exactly the same folder and drive structure too.
Lastly Delete the db.db3 file you’ll find in C:\ProgramData\Arturia\Presets, this will rebuild itself when you run your Arturia virtual synths, i generally run ALV once i’ve deleted that file as it contains all current Arturia soft synths.
I’d back everything up first before i do this though, just in case.
HTH!

Thank you and I think I found the issue. The different instrument sets use some of the same sample names so it keeps adding (##) numbers to the end of samples with the same name. Then they don’t match on the other machine. I did a test yesterday adding some unique information to the end of the sample names and now it works. I just have to go thru and fix all my songs. Not a huge deal and it probably should have had unique names to begin with.
Thanks,
Russell
