I’m using Cubase 13 on Windows. It doesn’t seem to do it for any other VST I have loaded. What’s the conflict? Thank you.

It can be about your DAW is sending a ProgramChange message. Then it might select a certain preset in a Playlist in pigments, when you start the DAW. I suggest you check for that.
Not all plugins accept ProgramChange messages - at least by default.
