What are some good Spark replacement options?

That title above says it all. I loved the Spark CDM and SparkLE interfaces, but they don’t work anymore. What can I buy to replace Spark/Spark2?

I think the fact that there have been no replies for over a year speaks loudly. A feature rich drum plugin with a fantastic dedicated hardware controller? Doesn’t seem to exist anywhere else.
Arturia - you have this market to yourselves. Develop it with a Spark THREE and a big marketing push.

I will second, third and fourth that.

I love Spark. I just used it in my latest track - not for drums as such but for the other samples it contains in some of its kits.

Pretty please Arturia…

Unless you keep a cpu from 10 yrs ago, and never update the software, Spark 1 & 2 don’t work at all anymore. Not on Apple laptops; it doesn’t. I can’t believe they would just abandon Spark. Billy Gibbons used it exclusively on his “Perfectomundo” solo LP, and the whole record sounds amazing! How does a company walk away from the best drum computer interfaces and software ever made?

How?

It kind of depends on what you’re after really.
Some people are happy enough with just a few samples, no dynamic layers etc, whereas some want something deeper and more complex.

Personally, i use a mix of a whole load of things.
Analogue drum machines, i have a fair collection of those, plus BFD3 or a real drummer, Aly James Labs have some rather interesting ‘vintage’ emulations which i use too.

Depends on what style/types of music etc you’re after doing.

HTH!

I use Spark on a Mac Mini M4 in Logic running on Tahoe. It still works and its still relevant to me.

As a timely side-note, Spark 2 was released just 12 years ago!

I am happy to report that Spark works flawlessly on my very new Windows 11 i9 laptop. I haven’t tried my Spark controller yet, but I can’t see that being a problem (EDIT especially since my Analog Lab 49 works great as well).
