Using Keylab MkII controller with Audiofuse Rev 2

Hi Peeps, I’m new to Audiofuse Rev 2. Can I plug my Keylab Mk II into the USB hub to control the software, OR should I use the MIDI plugs? OR is it simply not possible to bring the two together directly?

Thanks

Hi @Hoe-Naye and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!

From The Manual P7.

So, according to The Manual, that would be a YES!

Oh, Hi Mat, thanks for answering.

I read that page, too, but unfortunately, when I connected my Keylab Mk II to the audiofuse, it wouldn’t power up, leaving a weird pattern of pads (mostly yellow with one red) on the front console. I checked the Keylab manual, which said not to use a mid-hub. I just assumed that this version of the Keylab needed one of the larger audiodfuse units to work properly. Is that what you would expect?

Hi @Hoe-Naye

I don’t own either of those devices unfortunately, but if i were to take the manual literally, then i’d expect it to work.
Have you tried connecting your KL Mk II via a different USB port yet? That would be my next move…

Hi @Hoe-Naye. Welcome to the community from me too.

Ii can add the following to Mat’s infos and suggestions -

According to the manual section “3.1. Powering your AudioFuse”, then the USB hub only provide Up to 100mA shared among all ports when in Standard mode without using external power supply.
The USB will provide 1A on each USB port in standard mode and full power mode when using external power supply.

I think you will need to use external power supply to provide enough power to drive a Keylab MK2 through the AudioFuse hub. I suggest you try it out, if you have’nt allready.

I can suggest you ask Arturia support about how much power the controller need from the hub to work.

Oh, thanks LBH, I did wonder about that. I’ve contacted ‘ground control’ at Arturia with a similar questions.

Thanks Peeps, love your work.
