Using ADAT send/return instead of aggregate device

I have an AudioFuse16 Rig and an Eventide H9000. Both are connected to my Mac via USB and I have been using them in Logic as an aggregate device so that I can access the H9000 plug-in directly from Logic when needed. This has worked pretty well.

However, I would rather just use the 16Rig as my audio interface and access the H9000 through the 16Rig via ADAT as a send and return. But a little confused how I do that in the Arturia software and set it up in Logic as well using the I/O plug in.

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

I’m guessing you mean as sends and returns for Logic, right?
(if you mean as sends and returns for the AudioFuse16Rig mixer, it’s different, but also possible)
Either way, you can connect the ADAT In/Out of the H9000 to one of the two ADAT In/Out of the AF16Rig.
Obviously, both clocks should be sync’ed, either via wordclock or via the ADAT lightpipe.

In Logic, assign your Logic sends to up to 8 USB channels (in this example, say, USB 9-16, as you’re already probably using USB 1-2 and USB 3-4 for the Master stereo mix and a Cue mix), and in the AF16Rig route USB -9-16 inputs to ADAT1 (or ADAT2) 1-8 outputs.

And for the returns to Logic, by default, ADAT1 1-8 inputs are routed to USB channels 17-24 (and ADAT2 1-8 to USB 25-32), but you can change them to any USB channels you prefer.
