Using 2 Keylabs with Analog Lab

I have just added a Keylab 61 mk3 to my 61 mk2, and as I will be using both as part of my live rig, I want to be able to access Analog Lab with both, addressing different sounds with each (say, a B3 sound with one, piano with the other). Also, there may be times when I would also like use one sustain pedal to control both (say, piano and strings), if possible.

Is all, or any, of this possible?

Yes, it is!
In Analog Lab, look at the “Keyb. Settings” (at the bottom of the screen).
There you can select the MIDI channel for each Part, as well as the destination for the Pitch Bend, Mod Wheel, Aftertouch, Sustain and Expression Pedals modulation sources. Each can be routed to Part 1 or Part 2 or both, or assigned to volumes/effects parameters in the Edit Preset page.

This is saved on a per preset (single or multi) basis, not as a global settings.

The only limitation (at least in the current version) is that it doesn’t differentiate the mod sources (PB, MW, AT, Sustain, Expression) from one keyboard or the other. For instance, the Sustain pedal of either keyboard can be used to control Part 1, Part2 or both (as selected in the Keyb. Settings), but you can’t use two Sustain pedals, one from one keyboard to control Part 1 and one from the other keyboard to control Part 2.

Otherwise, you can use a plugin host (a dedicated “performance” software such as MainStage or Gig Performer or any DAW), to do more complex MIDI routing of the 2 keyboards, and control mulitple plugins(Analog Lab, or more) at the same time.

Okay, thanks for clarifying that.

Now I’ve a different issue. Analog Lab Pro, which was supplied with the K61 mk3, is installing as Analog Lab Play. Which is of no use to me at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Analog Lab Pro but it is still installed as Analog Lab Play.

You have to register your new KeyLab mk3 to your Arturia account, and activate it in the latest ASC (Arturia Software Center) application for Analog Lab Pro to be detected.

Is your existing KeyLab MkII also registered/activated?

Yeah I did that straightaway. It originally installed as analog lab pro, but I clicked on something, and the next thing, it had changed to analog lab play. It also deregistered the copy of analog lab 4 which came with my keylab mk2, so I can’t even reinstall that.

I’ve asked arturia support to deregister analog lab play and hopefully that will sort the problem out.

That’s really odd, I don’t know of anything that you could click to change from Pro to Play.
The installer is the same. The difference is the active license. If you don’t have an active Analog Lab Pro (or AstroLab or KeyLab mk3) license, it automatically opens as Play.

I suggest contacting either Registration Support or Tech Support with your registered email, so they can see you serial numbers and see what might be wrong in your account and help you with that.

Oh, OK, that might help too.
I never registered Analog Lab Play myself.

I can’t even remember what it was I clicked.

So I’ve discovered that this has happened because I registered the keyboard and software using my old email address. I got a message to say that my details has been compromised, so I changed them. Changing back to my old details sorted the issue. Which isn’t ideal. But I’m in contact with Arturia support about fixing it.
