Trying to trigger Leipzig-S with Keystep 37

Hey Everyone,
I have a Leipzig-S that I would love to trigger sounds using my Keystep 37. Both have MIDI IN and OUT, which I’ve connected. Not getting a reaction. Is there something else I should be doing?
The Leipzig-S has EXT2 IN, EXT 1 IN (both 1/4") Audio Out (I have 1/4" split to stereo RCA going to mixing board).
I’m thinking I need to get “midi out” pin / 1/4" jack to input into either EXT1 IN or EXT2 IN ports.

Thoughts?

You only need to connect the MIDI Out of the Keystep to the MIDI In of the Leipzig-S. The MIDI Out/Thru from the Leipzig is not needed unless you want to control another synth with the MIDI data. If both are set to the same MIDI channel, there should be no problems.
