Trying out this LoFi but ended up with a Synth Wave fusion

I don’t know if this will work so I can just try and see if it links or not.

Nice work! The drum track seems independent.
I hear a pad, an accompaniment a key. Two PureLoFi?

the track has two Pure LoFi, Augmented Mallet, Jup8000 and Piano. the extra sounds come from SoundPaint free ASMR. The detuning was done with FabFiter Volcano3 and Timeless2. I have not found an adequate sound filter from Arturia to replace those.

The songs backstory / history: I had got the email from Arturia announcing the V_Collection 11 and had said to myself that I don’t need or really want to spend any more money on new instruments after spending way too much in the past 6 months on the versions I had. I saw a posts on here from several users saying they were looking forwards to using the Pure LoFi and JUP8000, so I thought why not take a look.

Against my better judgement and vowing not to spend more money, I justified the expense on the cost of the whole upgrade was the same as buying one instrument and I was getting 5 new ones for the cost. Within a few hours of getting the upgrade I came up with a fun lofi like sound only to be told by my musical mentor that the bpm was just too high, I had the wrong beat pattern and a list of other short comings to fit inside the lofi genre. After fixing them and getting it sounding right, part of me just liked the wrong first try sound. So I re-wrote a new song (this one) and embraced the wrongness with a more SynthWave approach.

The combination of Pure LoFi and the JUP8000 makes getting that lofi sound and a chill vibe easy. I am absolutely loving the combination and it was well worth the cost of the upgrade.

I watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebb6JRYLaAQ&t=2425s and it helped make more of what is possible click. Arturia has some pretty powerful software but the learning curve to getting the most out of them is the worst bit. The videos released by Arturia I have found for me to be more lacking in they show features in too much of a rudimentary way without giving any real insight into how to really use them, then spend most of the video time playing the preset samples that I can just as easily do on my own time. Part of me wishes that Arturia spent time or invested in getting some regular artists to showcase their products by actually using them and explain the functionality in real life used to make up a song.

:grinning: Sure why not! I remember in a Jazz camp, someone played an A instead of A# and the mentor said: Well, it’s a jazz A.

For people who didn’t update to the latest synths, the offers are tempting.

I enjoyed this Keith Crossley video on PureLofi. And bought his wavetables for Pigments, SurgeXT and PureLofi (MicroFreak?).

The learning curve! Yes, so many synths. I can’t say I master any of them but I enough to tweak them for some goals.

They do but there’s so much to cover.
