Can anyone direct me to a post here or idiots guide me through transposing the patterns on the Beatstep pro from a (Behringer) Odyssey thats being sequenced via the CV-out from the Beatstep please? I have the midi-out from the Oddy going back to midi-in on the beatstep but I cant figure out the settings I need to change in the Focusrite Control to enable it though I’ve heard its probably possible. The Oddy sequences well but the keyboard on it is ‘locked’ to one note, regardless if I press any black or white key - they sound the note and it disables the sequence for the duration its pressed. I’d like to ‘play’ (transpose) the sequences on the keys on the synth rather than using the Beatsteps pads.
II don’t have Anything in your setup.
I can only try to help you.
According to the BeatStep Pro manual section “5.7. Transpose Link”, it look like it should be possible to trigger transpose from an external source. Please read that section.
I don’t understand why you mention settings in Focusrite. I would connect the Behringer directly to BeatStep Pro.
I think it’s very important to use the correct MIDI adapter cables for a BeatStep Pro connection. I would use the cables coming with BeatStep Pro or cables that clearly say they can be used for BeatStep Pro. I think it comes with two adapters.
It can be about MIDI types. And it can perhaps also be about with other unit to connect with.
Perhaps something like this:
Yeah bit of a mis-type there, I meant to say Midi Control Centre not Focusrite Control doh! The Odyssey and Beatstep are linked up with CV (Beatstep Pro to Odyssey) and Midi (Odyssey to Beatstep Pro). Ive used the leads/adapters that came in the box with the Beatstep Pro. Thanks for the reply.
