The new MiniFreak 2025 Presets packs

FYI, the MiniFreak 2025 Ultimate Patches have just been released and it’s nice to hear some traditional instruments on the freak as well as pretty accurate vintage synths in the youtube demo:

Indeed - it’s a nice refresh and a unique pack compared to others.

I think it’s a reasonable demonstration of just how powerful this little beasty is!
It’s the main reason i bought one myself, and it’s only going to get even better with time!:grin::grin:

She is very flexible and powerful, if only there was a way to export all my MiniFreak patches to share with others WITHOUT them being automatically re-sorted into an alphabetical order (which is what happens when you go through the export process (add to bank).

Imagine, for instance, that you could do a sysex export of a patch and save it in a librarian. What world it would be.

Arturia should do this, because in, say, 15 years when MiniFreak V no longer is supported and stops working, that completely removes all patch saving/loading capabilities of the MicroFreak. They should have used the industry standard: sysex for patch loading/saving. Sigh…

I’ve made that exact argument in at least one other thread on feature requests for the Minifreak.

Sadly, Arturia displays far too much hubris in their belief that the company will always exist and will always be supporting every product in perpetuity. We both know that’s not how this industry works, but Arturia seems to think they know better than to follow industry practice that has been decades in the making.

I’ve made support requests lately regarding patch load/save issues and Leo said he has given the dev team my report and they will have it fixed in February. If so, my faith in Arturia is greatly increasing. That said, no syx support is really backwards. Roland did the same thing with their 2 latest Boutiques (JX-08 and JD-08) which pretty much killed the Boutique line. Proprietary format, with no patch management possible. What were they thinking? They weren’t.
