How come the jump
Sound when held oscillates - also when u hit the low octaves the top loses reverb and the bottom thins out the sound? It doesn’t sound like the album at all . How do you get the sound rich and not oscillating
I don’t think it’s supposed to be exact.
Check out the Internet on how that sound was created and maybe tweak the preset, or just make your own.
Hi @jweisgal. Welcome to the community.
I’m not sure what you consider to be the self oscillation in this sound.
Do you mean the Filter and Resonance settings?
I have just tried to create my version of the Jump sound.
I attach a bank with my two versions of the sound here:
OP-Xa V_Bank_LBH Jump.obxax (67.3 KB)
It’s a bank named LBH jump to import.
You can Add EQ if needed. You can also try to remove the effects and add some yourself. It could be external effects too.
In case you try to create the sound yourself too. For example the amount of detuning is important for the sound.
The sound do seem to have some sizzling in the top. The effects and the recording it self have added to the original sound, and what you hear on the recording is not the dry clean synth.
I think the two presets i post can work fine and many will probably not hear any difference from the original. even though i can.
EDIT: I forgot to remove the Velocity and Aftertouch from the Jump 1 preset in the mod matrix . You can do that yourself if needed. The original synth did not have this. EDIT END
This is awesome - I’ll give it a try
I’ve created and 3 and 4 version of the preset using the Unison feature too.
I attach them here:
OP-Xa_Preset_Jump 3 LBH.obxax (33.6 KB)
OP-Xa_Preset_Jump 4 LBH.obxax (33.6 KB)
I think all four presets can be used. But you can try to study and tweak yourself to get the details you think is best.
The work by LBH is great but I think you also need to consider that even the real synth doesn’t sound exactly like you hear on the track. Never under-esimate the art of the producer.
