Does anyone use Spark to create separate tracks so kick, snare , hi hat and so on are recorded on separate tracks?
I am using Pro tools.
I generally use the stereo outs as it just sounds good but I have used multi outs in the past.
Pro tools is a little tricky to set up. Yesterday I failed.
Sorry. I didn’t see your second post. I use Logic and have no knowledge of Protools but someone here probably will.
I’ve not used Protools for well over a decade now, but i’ve done it multiple times in Cubase in the past.
Let me give that a go… I was reading up how to create a group in Pro tools. So the outputs will be in a group. Then there is allso VCA… Got a lot of exploration to do.
I used Logic 5 on a Roland Studio package (with the SI24) and I used Cakewalk Sonar. Then I got a adat card (RME) and a Tascam DM24.
This is the big daddy with a Control24 3 HD cards and 4 192 converters…
Thank you for your help. It’s appriciated.
Went to the mixer in Spark. Set 16 outputs at the bottom. Created 16 channels. Then spread the outputs over the channels. It only plays (all) if I go back stereo. If I have 16 channels out I only hear the kick. I am confused.
Now I am writing this down. I think I should delete the stereo output first. It’s great to trace back your steps when writing.
Nope. I took my time. Stereo is great. But multiple outputs is a no go.
Well I tried.
I can still do like i described in the topic i posted a link for. In Studio One.
Are you sure you don’t have to enable Sparks separate outputs in Pro Tools like i have to in Studio One?
I assume you did try to follow the post describing how to use Spark multi outs in Pro Tools.
Have you tried to find a Video to use multi outs for Kontakt in Pro Tools? That’s probably the same procedure in Pro Tools.
I followed the Studio one video to a T.
I went to the mixer page. Selected 16 channel out.
Then I created 16 channels. And I assigned 2 to 16 output to channels. In the arturia app and on PT channels. Record enabled my Pro tools channels and pressed playback.
Let me get back to it tomorrow. I’ll dig up the Kontakt video.
I have to enable the separate outputs for Spark. That’s what perhaps shall be done in Pro Tools too. Nothing to do with record.
Yes. In Spark on the mixer page
Yes on the separate outputs as inputs on the channels.
I recently found a browser that works reasonably on Sn ow leopard. So I can drop screenshots here perhaps.
I have to enable the separate Spark outputs In the DAW too.
Perhaps you have similar in Pro Tools.
See image - red arrow.
It’s the same method in Cubase too, one has to ‘arm’ any ‘direct outs’ from plugins such as Spark, BFD3, Mododrum etc as well as assigning individual sounds for each drum plugin to its own, individual outputs. It can seem a little extraneous initially, but it does make sense.
I thought I armed them. It works with stereo unarmed. The above selection method… Hmmm. Now I gotta find that in Pro tools. Interesting.
I went on to set up the arturia synths so they are hot and ready. Of those that work on 32 bit OS offcourse.
I gave it another shot… the Spark thing. But have not succeeded yet.
I was succesful in getting sounds on multiple outputs.
Thank you for your help.
