When I select a preset to add to a song, does it create a copy of the patch? Or does it place an alias (shortcut) to the actual preset? While in the Setlist, Song, Presets, you can rename the presets. It doesn’t seem to affect the original patch name. If you modify the Song Preset, does it modify the original Preset? This is not covered in any manual.
HI @EnjoyRC
That’s actually a really good quesion!
I don’t use ALV in that way, mainly because i don’t have an AstroLab and also because i don’t play live any more.
Looking at it logically, i’d have to assume that AL/ALV has its own ‘subset’ of presets within it’s presets, rather than use some kind of alias. I see where you’re going with that, though.
Perhaps someone from Arturia Staff could step in and enlighten us?
Hi all,
You can read this in the Analog Lab manual:
“5.2.5. Playlist Presets are Independent
Presets you place in a Playlist are saved independently as part of the Playlist. This means
that any change made to the original Preset won’t affect the sound of the Preset in your
Playlist. Conversely, any change made to a Preset in a Playlist won’t affect the original as
found in the Preset Browser.
If you’ve tweaked a Preset inside a Playlist and would like to use that version elsewhere,
save a copy of it in a User bank so you can access it without having to load the Playlist.”
Playlists and it’s ressources are stored in your Arturia ressource folder/ application / User.
Arturia: It would be nice, if playlists and it’s ressources all where stored in a common mother folder by default like presets are. It would be easier to backup just one folder to have all.
