Since neither AstroLab nor AnalogLab nor V Collections contains even a single Saxaphone patch that I could find (out of 14125 presets no less), I’ve had to resort to creating one using a Pignents. There are a few Saxaphone samples that come with Pigments (go figure).
I created one and it plays fine inside of Pigments and AnalogLab but the sample gets cut off prematurly once played on AstroLab? I’ve also noticed that a lot of presets I create that contain custom samples produce the “Impossible to load on AstroLAB” warning message. But mostly they seem to work. This is all very confusing and hampering to my abiilty to use AstroLAB in the real world of stage performance.
Would you mind sharing the preset with samples that cut off on AstroLab, as well as one preset that gives the “Impossible to load on AstroLab” message?
That would help finding what might be going wrong with those.
While waiting for future sound updates from Arturia, I tend to use Emulator IIV rather than Pigments to build basic sampled acoustic instruments, mostly using the included Emu II sample library. Emulator IIV comes with a lot of Emu “factory” samples that are not used in Analog Lab/AstroLab factory presets, but are available to build your own
(plus there are more .eii sample libraries available online that you can download and import ).
Here’s link to download an example of a basic Trombone preset I made using the Emulator IIV sample library: Dropbox
Thanks for the tip. I’ll take a look at that instrument in V collection.
Regarding the sampled Sax, I think the issue may be related to the voicing I selected of Mono Legato rather than the default of poly 8.
The message I mentioned indicates that Astrolab doesn’t have support for any of these homemade patches. I think it’s a bogus message from AnalogLab as the preset downloads anyway.
I don’t have access to download that preset. You’ll see my request for access.
You wouldn’t happen to have a nice, bright Sax patch to show me:thinking:, perhaps.
ok, well I can see and edit the various factory sounds in the Emulator II instruent but can’t see any intuitive way to actually get the new sound exposed to AnalogLab as a usable preset.
Once you create and save a preset in Emulator II V, it should automatically be added to your User banks in Analog Lab the next time you open it.
You can also open Emulator II V in Analog Lab.
