Roland RD-2000 faders and knobs to control Astrolab

Hi, all. I am a first-time Arturia owner/user and a relative MIDI novice. I have connected RD2k MIDI OUT to Astrolab MIDI IN, and the keyboard, sustain pedal, and pitchbend all work fine. I have a fantasy of using the fantastic sliders and knobs on the RD2K to tweak parameters in the sounds on the Astrolab, but moving the sliders do nothing at this point.

Any advice, tutorials, or recommendations to get me started would be greatly appreciated.

See Page 18 of the RD-2000 User Manual.

See Page 87 of the Astrolab User Manual.

You need to make sure that the knobs and sliders of the RD-2000 are configured to transmit the same CC (Continuous Controller) numbers that the Astrolab can respond to.

The pages above will help with configuring the RD-2000 to transmit the correct CC numbers.

Thanks Promidi - I am horrible at remembering to RTFM, even though I preach it all the time to others. Thanks so much for the page references!

Once I get this working, I am then going to try and do the same for my Maschine+. My dream is to to have two different Scenes on the RD-2000, one for controlling the Astrolab and one for the Maschine+. I hope I’m thinking about this right
