Rate and Depth of Mod Wheel

I am hoping someone can explain to me how to set the rate and depth of the vibrato from the mod wheel

Hi @LilyM. Welcome to the community.

The modwheel can be used for many things. It does’nt have to control vibrato at all.

The original hardware did’nt have a LFO. It used the third Oscillator.

In the Advanced section Mini V have a LFO and a Function modulator added. It also have a Keyboard section added.

Mini V4’s Default preset use VCO3 for the Vibrato. In the CONTROLLERS section Oscillator and Filter Modulation is enabled.
It use the added Keyboard section in Advanced view to set the modwheel to control the Mod Amount.
The Pitch of OSC3 set the Rate.
OSC is set to Triangle Waveform. But you can change that to add another modulation effect.
So you can study the Default preset for that.

In the preset Base Bass the modwheel is set to control the LFO Amount in the Keyboard section in the Advanced view.
The LFO in the MOD/ ARP section in the Advanced view is used as modulator and the rate of the vibrator is the LFO’s rate.
So you can study that.

The principle is the same when using other modulators.
The Amount parameters in the Destinations set the depth/ amount of the modulation.

So how vibrator depth and rate is controlled depend on how it’s set up in a preset, if the preset use vibrator at all.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask further.
