Pure LoFi Tuning?

It seems like a lot of the realistic instruments in Pure LoFi are out of tune. I don’t see a tuning option in that section. Is it possible to tune the main voice? Thank you.

Hi @brian1919. Welcome back.

I have not checked the tunings.
but -

The two Osc’s have a fine tuning, a octave and a coarse parameter. The fine tune is over the middle knob in an osc. Just click and drag the values.

To that the whole instrument also have a Master Tune between 400-480 Hz in the right panel under the Settings tab.

Thank you!

You are welcome @brian1919 .

Perhaps i should add that you in the Creative sampler module also have tuning parameters for each sample when you click EDIT for the selected sample.
You can also set the root note for the sample there.

Hi brian1919,

I’ve checked in Cubase with the Tuner.

In PureLofi, I chose Default (Upright Piano) and turned off everything (envelope, effects, keyboard tracking, etc.) and tried note by note from middle C. Then I tried with Rhodes, Vibraphone, Grand piano, etc. Depending on instrument, the variations were not big -2 to +2. It all depends on the note, sometimes it’s 0 (right on spot), sometimes +1 or -2. But you can’t tune Real Instruments note by note like in Pianoteq (not a sampler). If you could tune the “Real Instruments” it would be global and you would still get the individual note variations.

If you change octave and add effects, envelope, etc. , you may get wider note by note tuning variations. It’s a lofi sampler.

If you own Native’s pianos, Pianoteq or Piano V3, you may compare. I would bet (I don’t gamble) you would also get slight note by note tuning variations.

Addendum: I tried with Pianoteq’s NY Steinway dry and I get small note by note variation depending on velocity. I could tune every note’s detune individually but that would be a chore.

Thank you, LBH!

Thank you, Francoise!
