Pure LoFi - high CPU usage

I installed the “Pure LoFi” instrument for testing and I’m surprised by the enormous CPU resource consumption when running just a single instance of it. It doesn’t matter whether I use the standalone version or the plugin in a DAW — with a 256-sample buffer, it’s impossible to play without crackles and CPU load reaching 90% (for example, the preset “A Forest Of Tiny Things”).
My computer is a 2019 Mac Pro with a 28-core Xeon processor, 256 GB of RAM, and a fast SSD (read/write speeds around 2700 MB/s), macOS Sonoma. Until now, I’ve been running projects with a huge number of other instruments like Kontakt, Arturia ,Roland Cloud, u-he, and many others in a single session, and at these buffer settings everything runs very smoothly.
How is it even possible to use Pure LoFi in a session if running just one instance completely “kills” the computer?

All the best

Michał

Hi @MichalS. Welcome to the community.

Pure LoFi can indeed use much CPU. It depend much of how the preset is designed and on the voice settings and how you play. 16 voices demand a very powerful CPU.
I suggest you reduce the number of voices in the Voice mode setting, when you have the issue.

Hopefully Arturia will be able to reduce the CPU consumption in future updates.
