Does this mean that the Keystep can override the envelopes on an external unit?
I’m using a Behringer UB-Xa Mini as a drone source.
I bought my Keystep about 5 years ago, haven’t really used the sequencer/ARP, so these are noob Qs.

Keystep 37 should not send any messages to a envelope sustain or any other parameters, unless it somehow is set to do so. That require the Env Sustain parameter also is set to recieve a message to make it possible.
Are you sure the Env Sustain parameter is changed?
If I record a new sequence, it runs fine, until I hit “Stop”.
If I hit play again, it seems both the decay and sustain controls are set to zero.
I can turn the decay back up and the decay works fine, but the sustain will still be turned down and vice versa. Tweaking the decay knob doesn’t fix the sustain or vice versa.
The attack and release controls do not appear to be effected.
If I set the decay and sustain back to where they were, the sequence works fine. I can start and stop it as I please, and the envelope is uncorrupted.

As said, then nothing should change unless Keystep is set to send messages and your sound device is set to receive the same messages.
have you for example tried to change Transport Mode in Midi Control Center? Some midi CC that your sound device receive on perhaps is send out.
You could also change the midi CC’s the Sound device is receiving on and such things.
It does sound very much like there’s a midi stop/reset command being sent to the UB-Xa here… can you hook it up to a DAW or some kind of midi monitor to see exactly what’s going on?
That should be a pretty easy way to get to the bottom of things.
