Presets from Labs to standalone Synth (dx7)?

Does anyone know if there’s a way to export a preset from Lab V to a standalone synth i.e Dx7?

In Live you cant easily automate settings in the labs on the timeline but you can with the standalone + its easier to remember what somethings is when its labeled as the synth you’re using (labs is great for exploring ideas though)

(Also! the standalone synths usually scale better within their context window)

Ive tried exporting the present and the bank from Labs but its saves as a Labx file type and the dx7 wont import that file type (Using vst3 for both of these instances)

Any advice super appreciated as id really like to not have to manually recreate the preset.

Hello @Glyph_ka

I doubt you can transfer data from a file Lab unless you have a program that can emulate it to your Dx7.

A tear for the one I parted with over 30 years ago.

I had a program like this for my Zoom G7.1Ut that allowed me to directly modify all my presets and create some on Zoom on my PC, or even download files from other users, but it’s obsolete in Windows 7.

I’m afraid you’ll need a pen and paper to copy the settings, but hey, you never know.

Happy hunting.

Hi @Glyph_ka,

That depends.

  1. If the preset is saved in DX7 format, then it should be available in DX7 V.

  2. If the preset is saved in Analog Lab format then:
    A. If the preset use Analog Lab effects, then you can’t transfer those effects.
    B. The preset can inside Analog Lab be saved as Part in the DX7 V format and show up inside DX7 V, if you make it a part of a Multi preset if it is’nt already. Just click add See Image.
