Possible script bug? stop all clips not working (Bitwig & Keylab Mk3)

i have the Keylab mk3 49, I use it with Bitwig studio 5.3.13

in daw mode, when i press the ‘launch all scenes button’ bottom right of Keylab screen, it launches all the clips as expected, but upon ‘long press’ it does not stop the clips as described in the manual

is this a bug or am i missing something

thanks in advance

Hi @neo36uk and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!
Not being a Bitwig user myself (Cubase here) i think all i can personally do is point you towards these two videos.

And

Hope they’re of some use to you!
AFAIK one or two Arturia Staff use Bitwig, and i know there are one or two other users who do to, so they might be able to chime in with some further advice possibly?

HTH!

I noticed this as soon as I tried the Keylab mk3 a few months ago (was in May). I submitted a tech ticket to Arturia and got a couple of suggestions but nothing worked. I tried both Windows and Linux, either with Bitwig’s extension or Arturia’s script. I have not come back to this since because I am not using the keylab for clip control anyway, I was just testing the feature out of curiosity.

thanks for your reply. Yes it must be a bug, very irritating as bigwig is my main daw and i want to use the keylab to control all aspects of bitwig (works faultless in live) . this will probably never get fixed now though sadly

what did Arturia suggest you try to fix it?

Here is what I got:

Hi Thorgal,

Thank you for contacting us!

Let’s try to review everything:

  • First, please make sure that you’ve downloaded the integration guide and script:

Guide: https://dl.arturia.net/products/keylab-49-mk3/daw-integration-guide/KeyLab_mk3_Bitwig_Studio_Daw_Integration_Guide_1_1_EN.pdf

Script: https://dl.arturia.net/products/keylab-49-mk3/daw-integration-script/KeyLab_mk3_Bitwig_Studio_DAW_Integration_Script.zip_Daw_Integration_Script_1_0_0.zip

If the problem persists afterwards:

  • Go to Bitwig Studio MIDI settings (Settings / Controller)
  • Chose Add Controller / Hardware Vendor: Arturia / Product: KeyLab mk3
  • Click on Add

  • Your controller should be ready to use Bitwig Studio

Let me know if it helps. If the problem persists, please send me a screenshot of your setup and a short video of how it’s working on your end.

I never got to provide a video and screenshot because I lost interest while I was busy with other things (and I use an old Akai APC40 to control Bitwig so the keylab support is not really relevant for me). So the ticket was closed without much feedback afterward.

PS: I am currently configuring an Morningstar MC8 Pro to achieve basic control of the clip launcher from my foot. It works reasonably well with the drivenbymoss “Generic Flexi” extension and I got it to a good enough state (I’d like to improve on it eventually but all this tech stuff is taking too much time …). If you ever get this Keylab issue figured, I’d still be interested to know about it. My wife who’s on the Keylab most of the time may find it useful.
