[Poss Bug]Arp set to MIDI SYNC in Cubase DAW Mode doen't sync BPM

Keylab 88 mk3 Firmware 1.2.1 doesn’t sync BPM with Cubase 15 Pro (latest update).
Other DAW Controls work fine.
SYNC set to MIDI (or USB) behaves the same as if set to Internal. It doesn’t get the Clock from Cubase.
Any idea what I might have to change or is it a bug?
Thank You for reply!

HI @RolandKirst

Have you enabled ‘project sync setup’ in Cubase first?
Apologies if you know this already…
If it’s the same as Cubase 14, then go to ‘Transport/Project Synchronisation Setup’ and you’ll get the following popup.

You’ll need to select your KL88 in the ‘destinations’ tab, of course.
If you’re triggering Arps etc, from the KL88, then you’ll likely want to check the ‘Always send start message’ tab too.

HTH!

Thank you matjones - I haven’t enabled the necessary Cubase settings before.
After checking all possible options - I still receive no BPM from Cubase:

I tried MIDI Sync as well as USB SYNC on Keylab Arp Setting. It only takes BPM from its Internal Setting.
DAW communication with Cubase otherwise works perfect as expected.

HI @RolandKirst and thanks for the update, have you tried ONLY checking the Mid clock destination and midi clock follows project position boxes?
From memory, i generally use the Cubase Arp plugins instead of onboard arpeggiators as they’re so quick to use, i’m fairly sure that’s all i use.

HTH!

Just a little additional thought.
Have you set the Keylab ARP to sync with external source? I assume that’s a setting.
I don’t know if Keylab is able to be Master for your DAW. IOn that case the DAW need to be set to sync to an external source i assume.

I’d like CUBASE to be the master and I would like that Keylab’s Arp uses the BPM defined in Cubase. This is what the SYNC Setting in Keylab’s Arp with “MIDI” or “USB” instead of “Internal” is supposed to do.
I tried all possible settings on Cubase too (Transport Menu)
In the meantime I am pretty sure, that it is a bug in the latest firmware, not recognizing the BPM that is transmitted from Cubase to Keylab.
In real life it’s not so bad because all the other communication and integration between Cubase and Keylab ist working well.
I can use all the arps from the Instruments and plug ins in Cubase.
I was just wondering, if I configured something wrong - but I think, it’s just not working as designed. Maybe it will be fixed in a later firmware release.
Thank you all for your help!

HI again @RolandKirst, and thanks for updating us.
That’s a real shame and a rather odd one too.
I’ll amend the title of this thread to show as a possible bug then.

HTH!
