Plucked Distant Piano for Piano V3?

I was playing around with some sounds today and I found a preset by Victor Morello called “Plucked Distant Piano”, and I really like it, but when I wanted to open the instrument interface to edit it a bit further it told me I needed the full version of Piano V, which confused me a lot since I most definitely have it (V Collection 11 Pro and all), but some googling later it would seem that this preset vas actually made with Piano V “Version 1.0”, and not Piano V3 (which REALLY should be called “Piano V v3” or the first Piano V be renamed to its equivalent that makes it clear that the “V” does not actually mean “Version”, because this is really really confusing, at least to me), but this then means I cannot fully edit this preset since I only own the latest version (and unlike with some of the other SoftInstruments I dont seem to be able to download any old versions of it), so is there a way to get this preset for PianoV 3 somehow?

I dont want to imply I take anything the Google search AI says at face value, but it hinted towards the possibility of certain “valuable” presets sometimes being updated to newer versions of an instrument, so I had to ask, is this a thing you do, or someone else on the forum likes to try to do sometimes?

It is not the end of the world since the preset has a lot of variables available (as presets usually do), but rarely does it give “all” of them.

Anyone able to help or at least clear things up for me?

EDIT: Actually, this might possibly be a “Nevermind” as I just found the download for PVv1 where one would expect, and I am downloading it to see if it works now, but still my question stands (and especially the point about the confusing naming).

EDIT2: A sort of warning (I guess): When I installed Piano V “v1”, it force-installed what I think was a very old verson of the ASC, which also broke the Auto-updater for it, so I had to manually reinstall the latest version of ASC. I figured something was up when I opened Analog Lab and it suddenly said “Welcome to Analog Lab” and asked for my email adress… o.o’

EDIT3: A follow-up question: The other day I found a preset that was made with the Mini V3 (I own the Mini V4), downloading and installing Mini V3 allowed me to bring up the V3 interface from within Analog Lab and edit the preset properly, despite not actually owning it, but when I tried the same with Piano V, it still just told me I had to get the full version, how come? The thing with the Mini V3 (which also happens with SEM V2 (dont own) vs SEM V3 (do own) so that had me believing that Arturia allowed acess to older plugin versions for the sake of convenience, but maybe not then? Does it just seem like I have proper access now because I am actually using up the 20 minute DEMO grace period or something? Anyone know anything about this?

Sorry if this all seems obvious but to me it is really really confusing

Hi @Swedra

I’m just investigating now, as i don’t seem to have that preset in Piano V3 on my system.
I’ve just checked ALV too just in case, and it’s in neither of them on my system.
Just deleted the db.db3 file and rebuilding my database now…

It’s still not present on my system.
Thinking about your post, i’d guess you’ve had either earlier versions of Piano V or you’ve purchased some expansion packs at some point?
I only ever run the latest ‘clean’ versions of software on my own system, which would explain why i don’t have that particular preset.

Editing the preset might not be possible, as there were some framework changes between those two versions of Piano V.
I do not work for Arturia, myself and @ LBH are ‘external moderators’, so possibly a member of Arturia Staff could further explain?

HTH!

Apart from recently buying Pigments and the V Collection 11 Pro, all I did before that was to activate the softwares way back when I bought my KeyLab 61 Essential “mk.1”, which included Analog Lab 4 and later Analog Lab Pro, so that is probably why I have such an old preset available, (it does disappear if I untick the box for Legacy Sounds though).

I think this is your answer, my friend.

It does explain why you do not see it show up, sadly it does not answer any of the questions I had though as I was already well aware of the sound being old (ever since realizing it was from PianoV v1 I mean).

Yes, i take your point entirely, you COULD log into your account to contact Arturia Support, who should be able to advise, or see if an Arturia Staff member replies to your OP.

Yup Yup, I might have to do that in the end, but I wanted to ask first so I dont bother support with what is probably more a user question than a matter of technical difficulties or some sort of defect >_<

Thanks for taking that considerations. @Swedra .

Yes this is no technical issue. It’s a legacy preset as you say. It can only be opened in a full application, if you own the full Piano V legacy application and have it installed. The preset is’nt compatible with The latest version of Piano V as it was rebuild. Much better sound in the latest version in my opinion.

I’d second this, particularly in the hands of a decent pianist, it can sound VERY convincing!
