Please rethink the advanced panel design on your synths

I’ve never been much of a fan of the advanced panel system that slides away part of the main UI because it feels clunky, but at least when the advanced panel is positioned at the top of the UI it’s easy accessible and my mouse is right where it needs to be once I’ve clicked the button. Eg, Prophet 5 V or Jun 6 V.

But lately you’ve started to add your advanced panel to the bottom of the synths. For me this is really inconvenient, because it extends below the bottom of my DAW and I have to scroll the synth UI to see all of the panel. This is so annoying for workflow and makes the synth feel bad to use.

See the below video comparison. Prophet-5 V: the panel is easily accessible at the top, no scrolling needed to use it. JUP-8000 V: the panel is at the bottom, needs mouse travel to use, needs scrolling to see all of the panel:

Would it at least be possible to have the option for the panel appear at the top instead?

I get you, but to be honest I prefer it on the bottom. At the top, all the main controls that are present shift down so they are no longer where they are. I actually felt that more clunky and less intuitive

So I guess there are two different ways you can view this. It’s unfortunate, but I don’t think they’re going to give us an option any time soon where we can choose to have the Advanced section at either the top or the bottom.

I understand your point completely. The hideaway design is favourable among some users who find the advanced sound design options too overwhelming and are happy with a simpler interface upon loading initially.

The new advanced panel has more parameters, and is more clearly visualised, so it may be a little squashed in this top view, which is why it may have been chosen to be placed below.
