Pigments on macbook neo?

Do you think Pigments will be able to run on new macbook neo ?
The config seems me too light…

Hi @pierre.ricci and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!

Being a Win user myself, i had to do a bit of a search and from what i’ve read, yes it will run, but it will likely not be a good experience as Pigments is pretty CPU intensive at times.
However, this isn’t personal experience, so if anyone knows any different, please let us know!

HTH!

I think it’ll probably depend on how much multi-core processing Pigments does. The neo has solid single core benchmarks (better than m1 MB air). It’s not great at multi core.

Probably will run ok as a standalone but if you’re talking about building it into a performance / project in a DAW with lots of other things going on you’re going to have to freeze a lot of tacks (ie convert to audio) including those from Pigments.

I have one arriving soon, and it will be one of the first things I try!

I am pretty sure it will run, but how many at once? Unsure.

But this video does some good tests on the subject - https://youtu.be/yotk_SLCSNw?si=OG-maf2rFdfFv2PA

I think it would and with a fair few plugins before it was stressed. However, I think, given the size of V Collection installation, unless you install to an external drive, the standard 256Gb model will “fill up” pretty quick and given OSX need for free disk space to operate properly, it will suffer. The 512Gb is a safer bet.

I have seen a couple of reviews using real world test against an M1 processor and the Neo manages to keep up fairly easily.
