Pigments Demo Track online, with self-made patches only

Hi, Pigments users.

Today I want to introduce myself with a self-created demo track, using my own patches:

All sounds are Pigments sounds, including drums. The drum sounds, however, were sampled and loaded in Cubase Groove Agent.

EQs, compressors, reverbs and delays come from external plugins (mostly UAD, Valhalla, Soundtoys, and Cubase stock plugins).

I’d be happy about some feedback!

Kind regards,

Normann

HI @EinTon and welcome to The Sound Explorers Forum!

Just listening now,
I’m hearing Kraftwerk, early Electro (which was fairly heavily inspired by Kraftwerk, Ohhhh that lead riff was unexpected and really nice, those other parts follow on nicely too.
Aah we’re getting more electo-funk now at around 1:50 or so…
Now i’m getting The Orb, Little fluffy clouds stylee… lol and there’s ‘The Frog’ from MJs Thriller… Gone all ‘Orby’ again now… Now it’s a bit Joe Zawinul…
Highly entertaining track!
That’s a really nice mash-up of styles with some scherzo chucked in for good measure.

Thanks for posting, please do keep them coming!

Hi @EinTon. Welcome to the community from me too.

Some thriller.
Overall nice groove.
Some good synth lines and harmonies.
The sounds are good. But there are some unpleasant harshness for my ears from time to time. I’m not sure why. Perhaps overload somewhere. Or perhaps from effects or something with the EQ. Perhaps it’s just me. Just in case you can use my feedback. Still well done. Keep going. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Mat Jones, thx for the nice reply! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Yes, that’s actually a sample from my own old Casiotone 101 which I got 1983 as a birthday present from my parents. MJ and Quincy Jones used a similar keyboard, how I know meanwhile.

Hey! My pleasure!
A very interesting and original track, really enjoyed listening to it.
You should look after that Casiotone, some of them can go for silly amounts of money now, particularly if they have ‘The Frog’ on them, since Anthony Marinelli did his deconstruction video with Greg Phillinganes.
