The Play section (page) looks so very odd and out of place. I can see work is being planned too redo UI /GUI which is overdue . but should have all been done at once , hence a mature 7 release.
The macro dials are just bad. The bottom control section has improved some what but again
looks out of place. im glad you can freeze the stroke induced light show. But i think better smaller feedback meters could be used in future.
The Synth (Page) space is wasted on all of the (Pages) if you shaved a few mm off all dial sections you can gain room for menu info. . example. [ Engine 1 ] Wavetable icon is huge
when you click on BASIC WAVEFORMS the menu covers the wavetable feedback display , this always bugged me. It happens on all the other sections also. visual information covered by drop down menu.
Have a collapse and expand icon for the Modulation feedback. The multi colours and flashing can give visual fatigue .
Sequencer section: Please look at Keystep Pro top right portion. Put that functionality
( pages, 64 step …) into Pigments and its a winner winner. Maybe for a Pigments 8 ?
Why are none of the keystep models included in the controllers choices ?
Small things: In dark mode the colours are to intense, the Dials and Text are to white.
I dont like the rounded keys at the bottom and the blue colour on press
is used way to much throughout the whole theme.
Besides … thanks for working on Pigments. You read my mind on a few things but keep going. After Holidays ill make a few illustrations on some of my points .
I’m not saying i want things smaller. I say find wasted room by millimetres so better visual feedback from drop-down menus can display feedback better. eg. wavetables…
If i understand you correct.
I don’t see any such issues being solved by reducing sections a little.
When it come to the Wavetable, then i agree it would be good with a visual when searching in the wavetable browser. But i think a better solution would be a small wavetable visual inside the browser that show when hoovering over a name with the mouse. Perhaps it should be an option by user choice, as some might find it flickering.
I don’t need an icon to open and close anything. The visible name of the Wavetable already does that. The popups can also be closed by using (Escape) ESC on the computer keyboard. And it closes if you double click to select a Wavetable. Beside that we have the usual X closing in the upper right corner.
In generel i’m not a fan of making things smaller. To me that give fatigue. I think Arturias synths still make me want to work with them. So many synths have GUI’s with small elements that make them way to hard to work with - especially for a longer period of time. Arturias synths do not need to have things to be smaller.
This is what its all about. Feedback / opinions. Good stuff.
But Design does have some rules. And for a reason. You can see that on the first
Page [ PLAY ] They changed it because mouse travel space was so huge between Dial / Pots Crazy huge stuff. Space for Better feedback should / can be added. EQ, sound meters… ? So you can make room if you see it . Plus adding future proof continuity.
