Can you recommend any courses on Pigments 7?
I am new to this instrument and sound synthesis in general. So something combining both the newest version of Pigments and sound synthesis would be ideal.
Money is no object
Thanks! Most of the videos Iāve found wrt. Pigments are demonstrating older versions like 3, 4, or 5. Does it matter, I guess the basics are about the same in all versions, right?
Im many respects, no. The updates to Pigments have been additions and this allows for backwards compatibility. Of course, after learning the basics and features up to that point you will want to ācatch upā with new features in later releases. Again, Youtube could help you here.
There is a lot to Pigments. I have used it from the start and still discover new things or techniques which help to keep me engaged. If you are new to synthesis I would try to walk before you can run and soak up all the free videos you can.
To echo and expand on @Funtmaster and his stellar advice thereā¦
It depends on your knowledge of synthesis really.
Pigments is DEEEEEEEP! and i mean DEEEEP by comparison to most other synths. It doesnāt use one kind of synthesis, it uses MANY.
Iād look at simpler synths such as The Jun-6 V and SEM V2 for āanalogueā synthesis.
The Emulator II V for sampling, DX7 V for FM Synthesis and get used to them before moving on to Pigments.
Of course though, thereās nothing to stop anyone from just jumping in and enjoying the huge amount of library it comes with as āstockā sounds.
